Starling Discussion & Feedback

A grand total of £10 isn’t worth bothering with in my view. I’d rather put my money elsewhere.
But it’s nice they support that feature. Hopefully the rates will go up to be a bit more competitive one day.
At the moment I view it as a bit of eye candy marketing.

enjoy your two beers for having your 2 grand in Starling bank for the year - admittedly better than no beers for £2 grand in Monzo for the year

You could have a beer every month if it was invested with TSB

Life is too short.

I feel we have our first monzo troll, who is enjoying the attention.

Starling boards must be quiet tonight

If you can’t take rebuttals or another person’s point of view/ experience without seeing them personal attacks/ toxic/ upsetting, perhaps forums aren’t the best place to have discussions for you. I’m saying this from personal experience- I’ve definitely been on some forums I didn’t like, and it’s simply easier to just log off instead of letting it get to you.

Opinions are very subjective.
Others will strongly disagree (presence of Coin Jar, “Bill Tracker”, IFTTT).
Others will agree - 15% EAR overdraft fees, Garmin and Samsung Pay, International Payments (until later this month when Monzo launch them).

This is Monzo’s community, so you should not be surprised when people here tend to gravitate towards supporting Monzo.

Two pints of beer is better than no pints of beer.

That’s an okay view to hold. But it’s just a view. Others will literally claim it’s changed their lives. Others will be in the middle. I just like rethinking things and indulging my frustrated inner service designer.

If “genuinely passionate” people who care deeply about a bank card (FFS) can’t take some confrontation on the internet one wonders how they manage in real life

Have you seen what some people get passionate about on the internet? I think this is a relatively sane / safe space by comparison!

You’re late to the party! You have missed a lot of really good (and bizarre) ones, including fraud posts. I think everyone’s favourite was definitely Preecard though :+1:t3:

I’m always fashionably late !!

And 10 pints of beer with someone other than Monzo or starling is even better

At the risk of derailing this thread, can you remind us?!

On the contrary, I relish discussion. But I am unlikely to be persuaded by any of the many Bad Arguments that were listed by Schopenhauer.

Ah Schopenhauer, how I’ve missed him being mentioned

I’m sorry to spoil the fun but @evangelskies I’d suggest we don’t discuss Preecard again. Trolling the user who was struggling with their situation was not this community’s proudest moment. And explaining it again when the user can’t respond seems unfair.

Crikey, I assumed this was something light-hearted given the context. Sorry for asking…

As we were!

Read up on it and found it rather self absorbed and pretentious.

Still, off topic, so back to comparisons of the 2 main ‘challenger’ banks
