Is it bad I’ve never seen either ?!
How do we revoke Coral Crew status?!?!? ![]()
Don’t worry, I’ve flagged his comment for moderation!
@Dannytc should be banned until he watches: Star Trek The Original Series (79 episodes); The Animated Series (22 episodes); The Next Generation (178 episodes); Deep Space 9 (176 episodes); Voyager (172 episodes); Enterprise (98 episodes); Discovery (15 episodes) and the 13 films!
Don’t bother with the Star Wars stuff…
Are any of them 4k hdr?
I like Star Trek but I am a very casual fan. Isn’t Star Wars just centred around one family screwing up the entire galaxy? I feel like the upcoming movie is trying too hard to be funny.
All of Star Trek is on Netflix. Think it’s only Discovery that is in 4K.
Voyager is my favourite. #janewayisbae. I’ve watched every episode several times now!

Both I guess! Star Wars can include the films and the Clone wars animated series
LOVE Stargate
I’ve never really got into Star Wars. I know I watched the films as a kid and thought they were okay. I really enjoyed The Force Awakens, but I hated Rogue One and The Last Jedi.
When I was a teenager I was obsessed with Star Trek. Literally, bought all the books, had posters up, subscribed to the magazine. I used to get very upset if I missed an episode, back when it was on BBC 2 with no repeats, so if you missed one you were screwed. (We weren’t rich enough for Sky where they were shown months earlier, or to buy the VHS releases). I remember realising how obsessed I was when a newspaper ran a short article about how researchers had discovered people could become addicted to Star Trek the same way people got addicted to drugs which I thought was stupid, until one day I realised I wouldn’t be alive in a time when Trek became a reality and felt rubbish about it all.
I really like the new Kelvin timeline stuff and absolutely love Discovery (though I just rewatched the pilot and realised it’s not as great as it was first time I saw it, I think it got bonus points for being the first new series in years, but the series definitely gets stronger as it progresses). And I almost wept when I watched the video of Patrick Stewart announcing his comeback. I really hope they manage to merge the heart of TNG and the realism of Discovery.
I do enjoy Star Wars, I have seen the reboot of the Star Trek films, not seen the TV series yet.
I love both.
But clearly Stargate is the true ultimate Sci-Fi
In reality though, both are hard to compare, Star Trek is science fiction whereas Star Wars is Science Fantasy.
If I wanted to watch something in a pinch though? Trek wins every time, there is an episode for every mood whether it be action, a bunch of people sitting around a table, relationship problems… Your daughter accidentally drowning in a lake (this isn’t a regular occurrence for me), something something scottish space ghost, something something lizard babies.
Star Wars is extremely entertaining (except for Solo) but has overall very little substance outside of Empire and ROTS. It’s much better with company whereas Trek (the series at least) are much better as a solo watch (or with a small group).
Also this and the Picard show have me incredibly excited:
Not letting this thread die.
LL&P.
I like all Sci-fi but mostly a Trekkie and Whovian.
My favourite series out of them is definitely the Next Generation @BenC
Same here @BenC Second is Voyager then DS9 also haven’t started watching Strange New Worlds as I haven’t got Paramount+ since they bought the Trek franchise @fillip2k, I was in the middle of watching Discovery then they took it off Netflix.
Well, I suppose every trekkie has there favourites over the years and don’t think I had ever watched the rebooted version of Battlestar Galactica, only the original but we’d be going off-topic for that series.
Coming to a TV screen near you Trek Wars ![]()
90s Star Trek is my jam.
As a language teacher “Darmok” is a wonderful piece of telly.
