SIM card contactless

Quite like the idea of this actually. Assume as these are just smaller contactless cards that they’ll work on The Tube etc? If they do, then I’d prefer something like this over ApplePay on my iwatch, seeing as I wear my watch on my left wrist - the wrong side for the tube gates.

+1 for Monzo to support something like this!

You would be correct
I used to use one of these for TFL travel worn on my right wrist.

Exactly what it is, use mine on TfL underground all the time

Forgot to add it also provides you with a virtual card number, expiry and cvv so you can link it to a TFL account and view your journeys/trips. You’re not able to make online payments with the card number I don’t believe though.

The best use of one of these was the person who put one on the end of a wand and would wave it at the tube gates with a suitably Potteresque incantation

Ye I saw that. It was before I knew these existed as well. I was well impressed.

You canuse your Monzo card to fund your bPay band. I have done so in the past and t works well although it will still not let you keep track of your different expenses which it seems that it is what you want.
I would personally much rather prefer to have the option to pay using NFC directly with the mobile (but from Monzo app instead of Android pay for instance).

Yes, I know I can link the two but as you pointed out doesn’t track spend.

I rather not keep getting my phone out to pay, having on my wrist is far more convenient.

I have just got my bpay. A LOT of phones do not have NFC. And Google/Apple pay isn’t ubiquitous. Tap and pay is more common. I agree with many of the previous comments, I always have my watch on. As this is now a smartwatch my phone is often tucked away. It is really handy.

But the downside is that you have to go into the bpay app. There are no ‘push’ notifications. I would like Monzo to have this RFID card so that when I use it, I receive instant notification.

I know a few people that hide a contactless card with their phone in a case - a bit of a janky solution but it works!

bPay hasn’t been something I’ve actively used since the launch of Android/Apple Pay since I prefer the transaction notifications and amounts on my phone
Did you buy the wristband or one of the other devices they offer?

The bit I can attach to my watch strap.

Aha! If only Sony updated the SW3 to support android wear 2 which would allow android pay payments :frowning:

This is the main reason I asked, I have it on my FitBit Charge 2

This is pretty much the main use of my Apple Watch. Much quicker than getting cards / phone out.

The reason the bpay is awesome is because unlike android or apple you dont need to dig your phone out and turn on nfc etc. Im intending to mount the card in a ring by removing the stone and swapping it and painting it black. many times at work i forget my wallet and if i connect my bpay to my savings account it means i always money wherever i am and being a motorbiker it also means on rainy days i dont have to remove gear when buying fuel. its a great solution because sods law the minute you forget your wallet is the minute your phone is dead and you need petrol so with the ring your always covered. I tried smart watches but its just another gadget that doesnt get used that i have to remember to charge. I would rather put the money towards a decent watch that wont decrease in value

Blimey

Which method or device is recommended

I like the bracelet idea or if it built into a watch. While the watch strap attachment is a good idea it is not very durable.

The keyfob is good and durable but just as I don’t always take my phone to the shops I guess there may be times when I pop out without my keys (when family are home).

The stickers are great for phones without NFC, and help you get used to the concept before you upgrade your phone. They can also be used to create gloves you can pay with if you stick them inside.

Thank you

I might have to take a look at this
