If you cancel Sky, they’ll usually ring you within the month and give you everything you had for under £10/pm, no minimum contract term either.
Calculate how much time you need to spend at work to buy things. You will quickly realise that some things are not worth that calculated time.
I’m not even talking solely of big purchases but also (or even especially) small ones. Is that morning coffee worth it etc.?

Used Commuter Club for over 2 years and found them very good.
A bit of hassle when things have gone wrong but they generally haven’t and a good price.
I signed up for this! But haven’t had anything back yet. What’s everyone else’s experiences?
You can login to your Oyster account on the TfL website and click on Refund History to check if the claims have been going through as expected.
I’ve just logged into that area myself and have had 6 claims this month, of which 4 have been successful.
I was a bit suspicious of it to start, as was ready to change my password (and identity and leave the country), but I’ve just received the first refund for a delay I didn’t realise I has, so all seems to be good…
NowTV subscribers - Attempt to cancel the contract and they will usually offer you upto 40% off.
Entertainment was £8 and i got offered it for £3 per month
Sports was £34 and i got offered £20 per month.
Also those who want NowTV for the footie this season, i recommend Currys, Argos or Amazon as they offer Sports subs for £25 per month !
Are these only one-per-account special offers, or could I buy 10 upfront for use over a whole season?
No idea sorry, would have to ask NowTV or on their forum
I’ve emailed Curry’s to ask.
Do you know if they had this price throughout the whole of last year’s football season? Or is it a price they use in the summer, and then use the standard Now TV price (approx £34) when the football season starts?
No idea man, useless aint i lol.
All i know is for most of last seasons football i got it for £20 per month, just try to cancel and they will usually give you an offer
In my experience that trick works once every few months if you’ve bought directly from Now TV.
e.g. Pay full price for 1 month then try to cancel and they’ll give 3 months at a reduced price. After those 3 months are up they will expect you to go back to paying full price. What I don’t know (perhaps you do?) is how many months you then need to pay full price before they give another reduced price offer upon a cancellation request.
YES!!
If you’re in London go to Sam Smiths pubs. They’re all over central london and you can get 3 pints for under a tenner, which is crazy cheap compared to normal prices. Generally decent inside too
I think the biggest tip I can offer for saving money is as follows…
When you are about to spend money… don’t
And in a restaurant or café downsize. Get small instead of regular or regular instead of small. It will have the double bonus of slimming your wallet and your waistline! I don’t however always practice what I preach
But I need my 12 piece boneless box for lunch from KFC!
I recently got a nespresso machine to drastically cut on takeaway coffee!
The monthly sub with ‘pods credit’?
