So where is this new office? And yes - I think this is possibly the worst kept secret ever. The only secret was that it was a secret!

Dang! Small steps to actually operating in America too!

On the other hand, what caught my eye, was that t-shirt, I appreciate that! I’m gobsmacked to see it in Last Vegas.️ :v:️ :sparkles: :tada:

Does this mean Monzo as an actual bank in the US is on the expansion horizon, or is it purely a COps thing for now?

I may have to adjust my bet of when you’ll reach a million accounts.

If you match UK holidays…you’ll have people there queuing (lining up) to work for you!

You live in Kidderminster?

As far as I’m aware it’s solely for COps at the monent. But it speaks volumes as to their plans in my opinion.

No. I live in London.

Kidderminster was the most unlikely place I could think of for Monzo to open a branch.

Tipton would be a better choice…:flushed:

Grange–over–Sands.

It’s more ‘Victoria Wood’ than any other place in the UK.

Wondered where you were.
Awesome that you’ve brought some guys onboard in the US — and you must have had a great time in Las Vegas! Good work!

A question for Dillon, perhaps

Hey @simonb - how come Monzo are announcing a Vegas office on Twitter today? Hasn’t it been operational for about half a year?

It’s been operational since last April yes!

The difference is that up until this point we have been working with a third-party company so technically speaking the staff there were employed by the third-party. This meant that things were a little bit more restrictive than we’d like in many different ways and neither were we able to offer them benefits and an employment package in line with what we offer in the UK.

As of mid-January, we’re employing everyone there directly, and we’ll be immediately running interviews to hire more people! Our Vegas team are absolutely delighted by this, because amongst other things we are offering them 32 days paid holiday and full health insurance as we do in the UK. This is unheard of in the US where most people only get 8-10 days paid holiday and a fraction of their health insurance costs covered.

The text is a little bit misleading, since the office is there already and operational. But what’s actually happening is that we’ll now have full control over every aspect of it with no caveats or compromises :grinning:
