Issue: I have several non-Monzo accounts associated / saved with myself as a saved payee. When making a payment to one of these (a small car loan overpayment), the sort code and account number has been replaced with one of my other saved accounts’ details with the same bank. This resulted in me paying the wrong account (a savings account).
I have previously made one-off payments to this account successfully and have not changed the saved details.
Details to reproduce:
- Set up myself as a favourite payee
- Add 5 x non-Monzo bank accounts over time
- Add descriptions to uniquely identify them e.g. “Barclays: Mortgage”; “Barclays: Car Loan”
- Make payments over the course of months / years via the payments flow
- Make a payment today to the top account in the list - “Barclays: Car Loan”
- Note that the pre-set reference has disappeared
- Make payment
- Find that the bank account details have changed to another saved Barclays account
OS: IOS 18.1
Device: iPhone 15
App Version: 6.0.0
Screenshots: None shared owing to personal info / bank details but happy for Monzo to look into my account.
I can transfer this back to where it needs to go but utterly bizarre that the payee details have changed!
Edit:
After much faffing, a screenshot to illustrate. Effectively, the sort code and account number of the top payee in the list was replaced with the sort code and account number of the third payee in the list (I have now changed these back, hence they appear different):
Payment made today where the details had unexpectedly changed:
Last payment to the intended account using exactly the same approach via the payment flow:
