Sage Online Services

Good morning All, had my Monzo card for a while but currently in the process of making it my main account!

My employer pays me via Sage Online Services using Direct BACS does anyone know if this accepted and also does direct bacs give you the otpion to have your wage early?

Thanks

Hi, monzo accepts Bacs direct credits , and you’ll be able to get your money a business day early.

Hi & welcome

BACS DIrect Credit (https://www.bacs.co.uk/documentlibrary/bdc_introduction.pdf) seems to be the same processing time (3 days) as BACS, in which case the answers are; yes & yes!

Getting your money early is a very satisfying feature.

Wow, thanks for both of your quick replies!, Great i cant wait to get started with my first pay. I take it Sage Pay / Monzo is all good with accepting my wages. I know my ex employer used to say my Monzo card showed as a gift card.

I would guess that was when monzo was a prepaid card, but now it’s a regular Debit Card so all should be good.

I (we) use a Monzo Joint Account and have dome for almost 12 months. My salary is paid via Faster Payments and my wife is paid via BACS. There were no issues with providing the Monzo JA Sort Code and Account Number to our employers and there have been no payment issues since. In fact, my wife’s income can be claimed a day early as it is a BACS payment

Hi @jamiew1993,

The company I’ve been working for pay their staff via Sage Online Services (via their Barclays account) and I’ve had absolutely no problems receiving my wages into my Monzo account (with my 2nd salary payment triggering Monzo’s “get your money early” option as well: so I got my pay at 5pm the day before).

@richyb When you say second payment does this mean my first salary payment for this month will not qualify?

Thanks

Hi @jamiew1993,

To be honest, I don’t know. I only started half way through the first month so whether the payment wasn’t large enough to “trigger” Monzo’s “pay early” option or if it was because it was the first payment from my employer so it wasn’t recognised as a “regular salary” (could have been a one off) or some other cause, I’m not sure. (It might be worth mentioning that this was the first time since I’ve been with Monzo that I actually “qualified” for the “payment a day in advance” option - mainly as all my other employers were smaller and used standard faster payments).
