Within the topic where that article is discussed someone from Monzo clarified how the limit is broken down and why Starlings is different. I can’t remember the exact reason and I’m on my mobile which is rubbish for searching
No problem but thanks for filling me in!
I’ll try and use Apple Pay as much as I can as I really don’t want to chip and pin at the moment!!
I can’t find the post either, but from memory it’s because Monzo take into account that you could make a £30 offline payment in the same period while Starling don’t.
Yep that was it. I found the post too which is in reply to why starling seems to have a higher limit.
You are correct, the additional was to cover offline transactions
Tesco do indeed support Apple Pay from my experience.
I recommend downloading their ‘Tesco Pay’ app though, especially if you have a Clubcard as it takes payment from your card (you can load up multiple cards at once) and gives you the clubcard points in one ‘beep’, up to £250.
If you have to touch the keypad, use your knuckles as you’re less likely to touch your face with them. It’s the same for the touch screens in the shops.
Tesco Pay is useful and I do use it but I do wish Tesco would fix the limitation on they impose on google/Apple Pay.
