I got mine changed with no issue.
My company, with many thousands of employees, are still “looking into it”. Hopefully it’ll be done in time for Septembers payroll.
Got my salary moved over last week, other than being asked if I’m sure I want to put money in a “startup bank” …
I think it went smoothly! I suppose I’ll find out on payday, hopefully the money will show up somewhere
My salary made its maiden voyage
into my account early hours of this morning (correct day)
Heard my prototype “Mondo Meter” flip over to “Full” as the notification came in on my phone too so a double win!
Interested in the “Mondo Meter”…!

100% working now, just need to box it up and make it look baller

Will do a full forum write up and a repo on Github (with credit to @anon94554600) once completed.
My goal was always to finish it by converting an old wooden barometer… Something like this.
Just tell them that “Not updating your supported sort code list at least monthly puts you in breach of BACS Direct Debit Scheme rules.”
This is where IFTTT and
integration will be a perfect combination:
Salary paid in = Trigger the following:
-
Email local bar with pre-order for the evening

-
Make an Amazon purchase from gf’s wishlist / order flower delivery

-
Start Spotify “In the money” playlist

I’m sure this list could evolve and expand exponentially…
Got my digital payslip for tomorrow and it’s got my Monzo account details on it! I was worried as initially when I asked a month ago the payroll provider (NGA Human Resources/NorthgateArinso) didn’t support the sort code but seems they’ve updated since then (I’d asked twice to check if they’d updated and didn’t get anything back so this is the first real confirmation).
For anyone whose employer pays their salary via Bacs’ Direct Credits (if you’re not sure, check with your employer), @daniel.cannon has let us know that since Monday is a bank holiday, the payment will be delayed until Tuesday.
Frustratingly my company use these guys and the online portal isn’t accepting the Monzo sort code ![]()
I had that problem and had to fill out a paper form. I’m not sure I could pester Northgate directly about it though, as changes are (quite rightly) managed via my organisations payroll team. Due to be paid tomorrow…waiting with baited breath
I phoned my payroll dept to be told they will be making a change at the end of next month to add Monzo and Starling so I won’t be able to change till October. Wasn’t impressed.
At least they are changing it and not outright denying it like some providers
To be fair, both of the banks are in beta so it’s not like the current accounts are fully done and active and it sounds like it’ll be done before they are out of beta so that’s a good sign.
Weird - I don’t think my payroll dept had to do anything special. We have a LOT of employees in the UK using them so I’d be surprised if I’m the only one who has moved to Monzo CA and have asked to update my salary. That screenshot is from their online payslip portal so they can definitely handle it - nag them some more, and tell them you know other people have done it ok!
My pay is tomorrow too, but I checked the online payslip service (not sure they offer this to everyone who use them?) and it’s showing my Monzo account so I’m confident it’ll be fine. I’ll be keeping an eye on my notificaitons overnight though!
I didn’t think BACS had a beta status for banks? Monzo might be calling it a beta, but there’s nothing beta about their BACS setup?
I’ve given my HR dept a polite email asking their assistance (and subtly mentioned not expecting this to be an issue due to monthly BACS sort code list updates
). I’m not too worried - plenty of time to get this sorted until the next pay date.
It is strange that of the thousands of people’s salaries NorthgateArinso handle across many companies, that this hasn’t been resolved sooner.
