My head hurts.
Struggling, struggling with that US JA news tbh…
New flex card design needed overall me thinks. Even if I completely tone down the existing in-app design it looks average:
But 47 posts in and no other ideas? Come on!
I’ve gone all in in the
THEY’VE ACCIDENTALLY CREATED TWO PRODUCTS (A CREDIT CARD AND A BUY NOW PAY LATER PRODUCT)
vibe, so I kinda think the EastEnders thing should be reserved for Flex (bnpl) and we need a new thing for the credit card.
I’m thinking black and hot coral highlights…
I say retro tv flex card
Transparent with a coral core pls. Holographic core for plus. Metal white core for premium pls.
So basically this. But Monzo tier colours for the insides.
But I just have a thing for transparent cards.
And now I’m thinking… what if they just make the wavy line transparent? Or what if the rest of the card is transparent and just the wavy line is coloured
Outlook good
Whoo Hoo!
This is nice, but as monzo is full of colour it’s wrong end of the spectrum
The transparent Thames Stripe idea would be cool. Put your standard/plus/premium card underneath to get the ‘Tier’d Thames Stripe’ showing through. Nice
Want
I’ll be very slightly disappointed if it does not have the dark navy background and the River Thames flex stripe in appropriate colour
I know I went whole on the #TeamPink front, but a yellow stripe looks awesome on that dark navy background!
I’ve completely bought into and sold myself on the idea of the transparent stripe now. To the point I firmly believe it’s the only way to take that card design physical, and will be disappointed if it’s anything else.
Solves the issue of needing to replace flex cards as well when a user changes their tier. The more I think about it the more it just makes sense. I want this card now.
Now about that pesky mag stripe…
Is that a legal requirement still? It would be no great loss for me personally. Cannot have swiped more than once in the last decade, but it is also about the same time period since I last went to the US
Not a clue. Might be a mastercard requirement. Still pretty prevalent in the US. If you come across a shop that won’t accept Apple Pay, thus requiring the physical card, nine times in ten u gotta swipe.
Spoiler alert!
Given that there is actually a real design now, there is not really any more room for wild or major speculation, so I am going to close this in favour of the topic that @TomMills has kindly linked to above.
Do go there for light speculation about “Easter eggs” and texture though!
