When a payment is taken from your account which is a pending payment, the money vanishes from your balance. If you then open the transaction made to view the details, you have to scroll down three of four screens to see the words at the very bottom ‘Pending Transaction’
Those words should be at the very top of the transaction and even better, shown in the transaction listing against that transaction. This would help the customer quickly identify the payment and avoid any confusion such as in hotels etc.

All of my other banks make it really easy to see which payments are pending and which aren’t. Probably because they all provide two balances - before pending and after pending.
I think, on balance, I prefer the Monzo implementation though as I can’t recall a time when I needed to know which transactions were pending.

Try Virgin. Transactions shown as pending may or may not be included in the balance, while transactions which have completed sometimes aren’t reflected in the balance.

My personal experience is with a hotel in the USA. I paid for the room and front desk agent said the payment was pending. But in Monzo, the money is removed from your account and you have to open the payment, then scroll down about for pages, to find the very bottom line which says ‘payment pending’, hence me debating with agent whether that was pending or not as I just opened it, without scrolling.
I would have thought it would be an easy change for Monzo to put those words at the very top
You must have a small screen. My transaction screens are no more then one scroll (about another 2/3 screen length) to the bottom.
I would like Monzo to show the payment as pending more prominently, a bit like Starting does but a lot of banks separate pending payments which I personally find annoying.

Nope.. Pixel 6 Pro. If the entry is a pending payment it contains a lot of info, resulting in scrolling to the bottom. Other transactions have much less info so less scrolling
