Four years ago I tried to get my BACS Salary into our joint account and for reasons unknown the payment was never received and confirming things with our finance department all details were correct, I just got bank transferred my salary and they took care of the rest with the BACS provider on the missing funds I believe, just didn’t bother with a follow up.
Since then I’ve just stuck with getting my Salary into my HSBC account and do a manual transfer on Payday, not an issue at all as it keeps my first and oldest account active and when in need of cash deposits it’s just a local post office visit.
The payment categories in joint account were enough until Monzo Plus (let’s not mention joint account parity again, I’ve been lurking on forums long enough to have given up on that idea, if it happens it happens)
Since then I’ve set up a few fixed Standing Orders from our joint to my personal account and Mrs Monzo personal account. It is a long winded way but just works for me but for this to happen I had to set up the standing order by adding our Monzo Sort Codes & Account Numbers. There needs to be a way to just simply setup recurring payments to other Monzo Accounts.
Today it would have been super handy to split a Flex bill with others. It would be great if you could consider how this might work
The other day I had to set up a scheduled payment from my personal account to my joint account and had to fish out the details manually, copy them to a piece of paper, and then copy them back in. Would have been nice if this (and perhaps other frequent payees) were pre-populated / autoomatically linkable in this screen in some way, to avoid the above cumbersome process.
Yes this!! This is also a frustration for my partner and I. I put all of our utility bills onto a shared tab on a set day of the month. But my partner gets paid differently to me and needs to pay them off throughout the month, but they can only settle the full amount so they’re waiting an entire month to pay off the tab.
I’ve always thought it would be amazing if you can see if a payment has already been added to a shared tab from the main transaction feed. Just with a little icon or something.
I understand you can see this from within the Shared Tab section but for me I’d like to see it on the Home Screen.
Maybe a niche requirement, but I’ll mention it anyway.
Yesterday I needed to pay the tree surgeon. Payments > Pay someone > Make a bank transfer
All obvious and easy. Switch back and forth between Monzo and my email to get the bank details and at this point, having typed all the details, I realise I’m using my personal account and not the joint account.
It would be great if I could have tapped the “Balance” part at the top and switched account. But instead I had to go back to the start, refind all the details and do it all again to pay from the correct account.
I’d like to be able to add notes to entries in the direct debits list (i.e. the entries in Payments > Scheduled > Subscriptions & Direct Debits). The reason for this is its not always obvious/memorable what a specific direct debit was setup for just from its name). Having a user-editable notes field would help.
This has been posted as an idea elsewhere in the community, but I don’t think has been requested in this thread.
