How do people with budgets do this. I use the budgeting/trends/targets part of Monzo. These tend to be fixed every month. Do you simply exclude it?

In a lump when I get paid, using the salary sorter. However that’s not the same every time. Depends on what is happening that month.

No. You don’t. It’s been reiterated multiple times now.

As long as you start before the cut off at the end of January, it runs from 365 days after you commence it.

I believe you’re correct, yeah.

In fairness, the alternative situation is that monzo rigidly enforce the rules and someone who misses a day for whatever reason is screwed…? That doesn’t seem ideal either, so I think Monzo’s approach is reasonable.

Unfortunately, the 1p savings challenge is pretty crap imo. It sees people saving as little as £4.96 in January, but then a relatively enormous £108.50 in December. I don’t see how that can be a sensible saving plan. Add to that keeping the money in a non-interest bearing account, and it makes even less sense.

Because you’re not spending it and the money remains yours even if it is ringfenced in a pot, it’s a ‘Transfer’

Ensure ‘Transfers’ are set to be always ‘Excluded from target’ in your Trends/Target settings and the reports should show correctly.

Don’t think anyone has been lied to as I don’t think anyone at Monzo said this is launching January 1st. Think that was more a presumption by people who now seem to be upset about it
