Reverse 1p Saving Challenge

I love the automation of the 1p savings challenge but it would be great if you could do it in reverse. £3.65 on day 1, £3.64 on day 2 and so on. Saving more while motivation is highest and seeing the pot grow more quickly would help maintain focus. Plus at the more expensive end of the year, when we are all paying for Christmas you’d only have to find small amounts of money across December.

Welcome to the community veganelly! :monzoo:

Not sure why this has been marked as “Done” as I don’t think it’s doable via the Monzo app directly, you can however do it via the IFTTT Applet here.

And acknowledged by someone from Monzo too

I totally agree with this. Over £100 in December and a bit less in November isn’t going to work for me, but I could start that in January.
I haven’t seen that it’s been replied to by a Monzo representative? Or that other people have said the same? But I’m new to this so maybe I’ve missed it.

It was noted in the other thread by a member of Monzo staff:

Please please do a reverse 1p challenge instead. Its much easier to do than the normal 1p challenge.
Ive been doing the reverse challenge with monza via ifttt for years along with the reverse £1 challange. I would much prefer to do these challenges via the bank diretly than through a 3rd party app

Various options around be nice but I wouldn’t be keen on dishing out £3.xx every day in January. Horses for courses.

The first couple of months isnt easy but when you see nearly £4k in a savings at the end of the year its a nice boost.

Umm, what? It totals £667.95 does it not?

He mentioned a pound challenge as well. Please read the previous posts.

Thats the 1p challenge which i do along with the £1 challenage. Works oit to be £3880 plus if you put it in an interest pot you will gain another £100 pending the rate.

My pay out in december

What is the £1 challenge? :eyes: Not the same as the 1p challenge, but a £ instead, that’d be insane! :joy:

I think it’s £1 in week 1, £2 in week 2 and so on??

£52 in week one £51 in week two etc all the way down to £1 in week 52

Still ‘fairly’ insane. Although surely that would be the Reverse £1 challenge?
