I think they mean moving the average to a savings pot, then withdrawing each week/month to cover the 1p challenge.
Probably recycling it for the 2026 challenge. ![]()
If I leave the final amount in the challenge pot for the final day of the challenge, but withdraw it all the next day, will I still be eligible for the £10k draw?
In other words, you don’t need to keep the money in the pot until the day of the draw, right?
That’s what I meant. You had a window, or as they call it, a ‘Free trial’ for January 2025 and then it moved to paid tiers only.
It was discussed in this topic in May.
I couldn’t find anywhere that mentioned you’d get another free trial in January 2026.
Hey! Hope I can clear this up - Free, Plus, and Premium users will still be able to do the challenge in 2026 as long as they start by January 31st. From Feb 1-Dec 31st only Extra Perks and Max users can join the challenge. *That said, if you want to be eligible for the prize draws, you also need to start in January as anyone who joins after this won’t be eligible. *
The “Free trials” mentioned refers to users who are on subs plans on a free trial basis, rather than the full paid subscription. So someone on a free trial of Perks still wouldn’t be able to join after 1 February.
Hi and HNY !!
Is it me or is the the link broke in the app to open a new challenge?
I don’t think it’s active yet - give it until the late morning

Happy New Year!
Happy new year community ![]()
very strange marketing imo - leads me to opening a monzo account when I’m already a paying customer - cant read how to save this mythical large figure cos its a white font on a white background - all very bizarre, but never mind!
and my partners just seen the link on monzo and asked me why she’s being asked to join monzo etc
dont think this marketing campaign will win awards
It’s now live!
2025 challenge is finally done. Phew!
If you didn’t pause at all, what’s your final balance? Mine was actually 675.19.
Does anyone know if we need to let the money sit there until the final drawing to be eligible? Or can we move it out right away as long as we’ve made the final payment?
If you’ve made the 365th payment into the challenge today (6th Jan 2026), leave the whole amount - at least £667.95 - in there until at least 12:00am tomorrow to be entered into the draw:
Bugger. I withdrew it too early. ![]()

Feels tricked by the UI. ![]()
I got the same impression - “I did it!” - followed by a big blue “Get savings” button to press. I didn’t press it (until I’d re-read the big-draw terms), but I’m guessing if you press it there is no warning issued about leaving the big-draw early?
Nope, there’s no warning whatsoever when I took my fund.
I have made a reminder to myself to keep this year’s pot until day 366. ![]()
Yes that’s very misleading and will lead to people becoming ineligible for the draw, at least if we understand the T&Cs correctly.
@LizM Could this be noted to the developers for this year’s challenge? Thank you.
Was today the last payment taken?
If so, I’d guess Monzo can still see in the challenge you made 365 payments or caught up to 365 payments so it’s no biggy if you withdraw.
