You’re missing out on the 1p challenge perks which are better than the perks you get with Plus :eyes:

People be upset about that; because the perks aren’t as good as those on the new plans :flushed:

I’ve just slept near 12 hours and could sleep a day more :grimacing:

I do feel sooo much better though thank you, even by the end of Monday I felt a world of different.

Because @betalogic asked:

Look at it this way
IFTTT worked by moving it into a pot, those pots with Plus/Premium are 4.10% AER.

Monzo have brought that feature natively into the app, and for reasons which are glaringly obvious decided to separate it into a “Challenge Pot” so they can add the caveat that only the new plans get the 4.10% AER on it INCLUDING Extras which is 3.6% on normal pots

I know why they’ve done it, but in short; I think its utter b*llocks and I am allowed that opinion.

If they wanted people off Plus/Premium they should sunset them or just upgrade them to the Perks and Max plan and adjusted the pricing accordingly, then left it to people to decide whether to upgrade or go back to a free user, rather than leaving the 2 plans available and running and shafting the users by creating these caveats and workarounds.

Do it, treat yourself, glad you’re on the mend!

ET remake looks rough

Agreed.

This will probably happen, I’m surprised they didn’t just do that maintaining the older pricing for say 6/12 months to allow people to make a decision what they wanted to do going forward.

It would be interesting to know why they didn’t, was it a policy/legal thing or just something contractual when people signed up - I imagine the latter

Just makes me feel uneasy how they’re happy to continue taking the money but then do what can only be described as sleazy workarounds to effectively strip a benefit from you.

Probably just a “we don’t want people to leave”.

Numbers numbers people!

Sure, this works and has worked for me until it was obvious they were tryna shaft members

This is fine, I’d never expect new features, it’s merely a stepping stone I’m happy staying on until the newer plans appealed to me.

They have, in my opinion, separated this savings pot into its own product called “Challenge Pots” so it is excluded from the existing pots product, therefore they can say Plus/Premium do not benefit from the higher interest rate they are obliged to within that product.

How many times do I need to explain its not something NEW, it is a pot. A pot is an existing product. They have chosen to create it as a new product under the name “Challenge Pots” to remove a benefit that Plus/Premium would get on it.

No its not lol.

Probably a few more times given that you’re completely wrong.

Yes, only so they could exclude the interest rate from Plus/Premium members.

It didn’t need to be a new product did it.

Agree to disagree.

If you ignore the interest aspect of this, I think it still makes sense that this is classed as a “new product”.
Having this bundled into standard “savings pots” but without the ability to freely deposit what you want, would likely have caused backlash or more negative feedback than this version.
This is a new “Challenge Pot” that, at least in my personal opinion, gamifies saving and so should be considered a new product.

The fact that anyone can sign up before the end of Jan is lovely, but then it becomes another PERK of the new Monzo paid plans (which includes the interest aspect). If i remember correctly, Plus and Premium haven’t had anything new since Extra, Perks and Max launched, so why should this be any different?

Hm this is a valid point, but can’t envision many people opening it and not understanding the entire premise of it

Your entire post acknowledges why in my opinion it doesn’t and shouldn’t have been a new product then gone and ended it by saying this anyway

Are you reading the same post? I say several times that it’s should be considered a “new product”. You’re only reading what you wanna read because you are annoyed at the lack of interest for legacy paid plan users.

Evidently.

If it is that big of a deal just sign up for one of the new plans :woman_shrugging:

Yawn. Want the new feature? Get a new plan!

The real crime here is that it started on 7th January because someone never got it ready on time and then went on their Xmas break :christmas_tree:
