Just installed the new update on iOS 10 (v1.6.3) and noticed when making a payment the notification from monzo no longer makes the cool little “cha-ching” cash register / till sound. It’s just the boring old default iOS notification tone. Actually found the sound great for knowing instantly if a payment had been taken (e.g. recurring payments). Don’t know if the sound has been removed deliberately or if this is just a bug but I’d love to see it return!

Well the audio files are still in the app bundle so I’m not sure what happened there.
I have to say that I’m personally not a fan of the current sounds though, they’re far too harsh for my liking. Would love for Monzo to keep a custom set of sounds though, adding a different sound for a successful transaction and a decline in the future.

Rumors have it this is an iOS 10 thing. @james assures me that rebooting will fix it it temporarily

yep, this! It’s an annoying iOS 10 bug that happens when an app uses the default boring sound, it causes most other notification sounds to default to the boring one… Reboot fixes it until an app send another notification with that sound!
Yeah iOS 10 bug, been happening for a while now on various builds. Not noticed it on the latest beta though.

It’s happened to me on my android app too since they updated. I even tried setting a sound on it. But it still wouldn’t do it.
