New navigation for business banking users

Looking good, though the raw timestamp is displayed below FreeAgent:

Good eye, :100: - that’s on the list and no app update will be needed. It turns out most people don’t prefer to read “ISO8601 timestamps” for their last sync info. Thanks @anon16712584

Nothing wrong with standardised timestamps

Though I do find it interesting that you store timestamps with millisecond precision

This is lovely.

I had to force quit the app to get it to show my business account but it’s there now.

In my personal feed there’s a ‘Business Account New Nav Enabled’ item but despite saying I can tap to find out more it doesn’t do anything.

Hi @richardleggett I’m on Android. When in the payments page, the pull down doesn’t work. I still have to tap on the account name or the two crossed arrows, which brings up the switcher with the blue dots from the bottom. A bit confusing having two different systems for switching. I assume this will be sorted out?

Appreciate the feedback thanks @WDM - the pull down gesture is limited to the Home tab right now, but the team is following along and always looking at ways to improve the experience :raised_hands:

How do I disable the union jack? Can’t see an option… Thanks!

Hi, @richardleggett, this is going to take some getting used to. Reserving judgement on whether I like it or not until then!

But, please you prevent (or have an option to prevent) the back button on Android closing the app? Been dumped out back to my phone’s home screen too many times today already.

More feedback later as I get used to the navigation.

Cheers, Chris

To get rid of the union jack icon on your profile, disable the ‘Business Account New Nav’ labs setting.

However, if you actually want to enable new nav business banking (like, because you have a business account), then I’m guessing the union jack icon is always displayed.

Loving the new navigation! I did prefer the force press on the bottom to change between accounts but will get use to the new way to switch between accounts

It would be nice if this was an option :eyes:

Personally would find it unnerving to have a union jack always beside my name, could maybe take the starling approach and have a “GBP” logo instead as an option please.

Didn’t he say just up slightly that the union jack will only display normally if you also have a US (or non UK) account?

You won’t be seeing the country badges for all profiles either unless we need to show them to distinguish between e.g. UK and US.

So it wont show normally. (i.e. its a bug)

I don’t. I have only a UK/non-business account and I get the union jack icon if I switch on business-account-new-nav. This may be an early :bug: and could be squashed at any time…

Yeah hense the ‘normally’. It’s displayed currently in error.

Yeah I agree with your and I personally dont think I’ll have a USD account when they become available.

However in the future if a EURO account becomes available I would like one of those so potentially could have the same setup (all guesswork) but im assuming they would build upon this existing work and add a europe flag and so on and so forth.

Flags are much more divisive than currency codes so it would be nice if they factored that in and gave the option of a currency code also/instead of having to use the union jack flag which some people might find a bit annoying.

Agreed. I guess the strong visual of a flag is more distinctive than a £ or € or ¥ sign, and several currencies use $. But I’d personally prefer GBP / EUR / USD to a flag personally - not a huge fan of flags…

That sounds like a bad idea to me, as it doesn’t at all represent the status of the account. It’s a UK account, regardless of the currency held, based in and regulated by the UK authorities, and that is the important information. There is nothing to stop them from introducing a euro account within the UK Monzo bank (which is what Starling have done), and that could be designated with a currency code. But at the top level, the flag or some other country-specific designator is the appropriate symbol. For instance, someone with a US Monzo account doesn’t have a UK-based USD account, they have a USA bank account regulated by the US authorities.

They are also much more accurate in this case.

and easier to see on a small screen

Agreed. But also much more emotive.

But my business account is UK based and doesn’t have a flag denoting the country it’s held in. It has a little briefcase icon.

It may seem a little thing but I intensely dislike the flag icon for my personal/joint accounts.
