New Monzo Account

Would it be possible to make a new account with Monzo, as I switched to another bank as of recent and now I want to move back.

However, it won’t allow me to as Monzo still has my mobile number registered. If it helps I moved about six months ago.

Best to drop them an email to help@monzo.com to see if they can disassociate your email/number from the old account

This worked for me but best to check with Monzo via email to see if they can do it for you

People who leave often aren’t allowed back. You also left without paying your overdraft iirc, which of course is possible, but might be another black mark against your name and the credit rating hit.

Many people have left and tried to rejoin and had no luck. A few seem to get lucky.

Someone told you this when you wanted to leave :man_shrugging:t3:

You’re very much mistaken.

Recoveries got in touch with me to arrange a repayment plan, and the overdraft is paid in full. Plus, it’s the first time I’ve left Monzo.

But you still left without paying it, as said at the time it wasn’t the best idea but you did it anyway.

Whether this has any impact or not, none of us know. But the odds weren’t in your favour regardless.

Have you checked your credit history, there might be a mark against it from Monzo, even if you are square with them now, it doesn’t wipe out past events?

If recoveries got in touch once you’ve left that’s usually a lifetime ban at most financial institutions, even if later repaid. Would you trust someone who tried to run with your money?

Even if you left on the best of terms, many customers find that they can’t open a new Monzo account. There are about 57,435,632 threads about it already.

I left monzo by CASS and recently tried to open a new account and I’m unable to open a new one

Friend of mine tried to open one. Never been a customer, good financial history, not a bonus seeker or anything.

Straight decline, no particular reason. Wonder what’s going on :sweat_smile:
