Some decent shows, but it’s a poor offering on the whole in my opinion. There’s very little content, but the content is mostly good. There just isn’t enough of it released often enough to warrant paying month to month at full price.
If it weren’t for Apple One I wouldn’t likely be keeping it.
Although the content is mostly decent, which I much prefer to the Netflix quantity over quality approach, I found the shows to have little rewatch value, whereas on Netflix and Disney+ there are some gems I can watch over and over again for nostalgia.
Some of my favourites on Apple TV include:
- mythic quest (this is my favourite on the platform, my favourite comedy show to date, and one of my favourite tv shows ever to be frank. The quarantine special in particular was simply superb)
- Tehran is fantastic (keeps you on your toes, but a little too much Hollywood hacking for my taste)
- The Morning Show is Great
- For All Mankind is great
- See is decent
There were a few others I watched and enjoyed, but don’t really stick out in my mind right now. The documentaries are pretty good though, as are a few of the Oprah interviews if you’re into those.
It’s actually the two shows with the big producers behind them (Abrams & Spielberg) that I found rather boring and lacking in substance. Started watching their shows, found them boring and gave up after a few episodes. Those being Little Voice and Amazing Stories. I haven’t bothered with the movies, though I do keep meaning to watch Greyhound at some point.
I am very much looking forward to Asimov’s Foundation though!
