oops completely missed that , far too excited! It’s long overdue an update
There’s no harm in telling people about it and will stop being thinking there is something wrong if the app suddenly changes.
It’ll be a breakdown for those minor few that don’t like change, but at least there’s a heads up.
I have a Chase account with two new DDs that are showing on the Chase app (marked ‘pending’), but the first payment has not been taken yet for either of them.
If I switch this account to Nationwide, will these be accepted as ‘active’ DDs, or does at least one payment need to have been taken for a DD to be considered active?
Within Chase, “Pending” means it’s awaiting a payment. If it’s showing up there, it’s fully set up.
Or if you mean “active” in terms of being eligible for a switch offer, I’m not sure, but probably worth letting it take at least one payment.
Next question, does anyone know how long the Nationwide switch offer will last?
Direct Debit becomes inactive and no collections are made for a prolonged period, typically 13 months , the Dormancy Period Rule comes in.
I think just setted Direct Debit will be considered active… without any payments
The dormancy period is 24 months now.
How long did it take everyone to find out if they qualified for the £200. My switch completed yesterday and fingers crossed I’m eligible as I’ve met all the criteria, but I haven’t received / had confirmation of the £200 yet
Switch completed Friday. Bonus paid Monday, shortly after a text to say I’m eligible for bonus.
App update has dropped - it looks broadly the same, but the logo and font face for the branding is totally new. This is a company rebrand not just an app rebrand.
Surprising actually as the current branding still looks fresh enough and this is a very different look for the brand.
I’ve just encountered this on the Android app
The new branding looks much worse than their old one
It’s also on their website

Ooh so it is, I checked after updating the app and it hadn’t changed yet so I guess they hadn’t flipped the switch.
“What’s changing
From branches to cards; letters to our Banking app. Learn more about what to expect from our new look.”
Cards, you say
I’m surprised they’ve changed the “village” logo. You could tell the old one was meant to be a collection of houses with a tree, but it’s not clear what the new design represents.
Great new branding - big improvement from the tired old branding of yesteryear.
The dreaded card reader is still about though (when will they get rid of it?!).
