Moving Monzo.com

Are you curious about what happens behind a website when you visit it? Or how those websites stay relevant as technology changes?

Let’s take a moment to dig into migrating Monzo’s website. A journey in code and collaboration.

I’m Tris, a Web engineer at Monzo, for 2 years I’ve been part of the team that builds and maintains monzo.com. Today, I’d like to share what that looks like.

Ready to dive into your questions, so ask away!

Not a chance…

We have asked for years, then again Cheque imaging is a thing 8 years later, so there’s always hope, plus they already have internet banking for business banking, doesn’t seem all that difficult to migrate

The whole process took us from June of 2022 to November of 2023

I don’t mean to be rude, but as someone who works with large websites, kinda sounds like lots of wasted salaries there unless you were moving one element per week with 95% of dev time spent on other things!
