Well that was awesome! The ads are funny and genuinely different, and it’s great to see the brand get a human voice. A few points I’d make for next time:

  1. There are a lot of great stories here on the forum where Monzo has either really helped people save, or lifted them out of debt. When the ads focus on money management, the guy can see in an instant that he can’t afford anything he wants. Useful, but not as inspiring as the lady who saves up to go to Barbados. Maybe something like - “Wow - those budgeting tools are amazing - now I CAN afford the shoes!”

  2. I think they lack a bit of detail about why Monzo is actually amazing. All Mastercards are good for travel, but this one has the cheapest rate available to consumers, and is free to swipe. This isn’t mentioned at all, so people could be left thinking “mine does that too”, when in fact they are paying huge rates and forex fees.

  3. The race to open an account against the sculptor is very funny, but it doesn’t actually show any of the account opening process and how cool it is! The Android “tap to activate” would be particularly cool to show, although it might need an “Android only” footnote.

Overall though, really impressed!! Look forward to seeing if my mates mention them… :sunglasses:

I loved it. Really engaging - enough detail to make people sit up and ask more / download and see for themselves.

Two other thoughts:

  • I need to apologise to Jacqui for asking about her anti :mondo: vendetta commentary on the Monzo logo.
  • I’m still processing the shocking revelations about Bingo.

There’s a 60 second summary one, and then three or four 30 second ones which focus more on one feature set. Apparently the shorter ones will be a month or so behind.

I asked about the fact that an influx of users could again create a live chat staff shortage, what have they done to mitigate this?

A tad unprofessional to openly state with people in earshot that there’s no way it’ll be featured or mentioned. :stuck_out_tongue:
