very interesting. I’m keen to know more. Have signed up. I already pay Barclays a fair bit for travel and gadget insurance so will be good to see how this compares.
Hopefully will be available on joint accounts.

If that’s true, then fair enough but the post isn’t clear.
Also, £3 a month for the current offering still isn’t worth it so features would need to be upped ASAP. That’s my opinion anyway.
I do hope that Monzo can get this right because the idea is great, execution not so much.
I’m trying to find the link under my profile on the app to sign up for Monzo Plus but nothing is showing on my android Galaxy Note9 does anyone know where it shows?
Not in this version of the app.
Try this: https://gadgick.dev/monzo.html
For me I find mobile / gadget cover, car hire excess insurance, lounge access (at a reasonable price)
Cashback deals when using my card
Access to preferential rates for contents and car insurance.
Short term loans
Can’t find this on Android, am I being stupid?
edit: Open this link on your phone:
Well the point still somewhat stands, at the time of writing there are 102 users on this thread. You’d only need 5.5% of the 2,000 to buy in to be outnumbered (again that is imagining everyone here didn’t like what’s currently on offer).
2 posts above yours…
Just to make it very clear to everyone that’s a little confused. The core package is £6 per month (half price for early birds for a year) which has the following perks. Note at the bottom it states ‘We’ll add more soon’ which means at no extra cost to that package.
The section below that, are add-ons to the core package, so you can pick and choose what you like rather than having to have all of them.
I hope that clears up some confusion.
Thanks!
Guys… you’re not meant to get value out of Monzo Plus, it’s meant to be a premium status differentiator. It’s literally a way to let people with more money than sense subsidise your Monzo account (which is basically at break even) so that Monzo can go on giving you free stuff.
Look, if people want to pay £72/year for nothing then who are we to stop them? It’s a lot more transparent than other banks that try to hit you where it hurts.
I would like to see a tech pack. Insurance for phones and other gadgets such as Apple Watch & iPad. I currently pay £12 for this with Barclays and I would consider paying the same with Monzo.
Will the new coloured cards say investor for the investors?
No, just Monzo Plus
Can anyone explain how the emergency cash feature works (maybe based off other banks)?
If you’ve lost your monzo card and have no other with you how do you get access to it?
Airdrop
Or more boring and most likely would be a unique code you’re given to withdraw from a cash machine
The big difference here is that there’s ~200 people giving feedback in a 6 hour window about their thoughts on this feature - feedback is much harder to write than pressing a button that reaffirms if a decision made was right or wrong, especially if you’re not willing to see every nook and cranny of the app… I just discovered this forum over the weekend.
In addition to that, I would imagine there’s a lot of people with nuanced thoughts on this matter but might not have time to write feedback, or might not feel like their voice means much to those listening - these people are certainly one part of the balancing act in trying to get things right, but it must be a balancing act.
I get your thought but I also feel that saying anyone is “outnumbered” is a little flawed. Feedback from (arguably fanatic but hopefully sensible) users of a product will be much more valuable in the long term than just going by pure numbers to determine what is the most popular or liked products. What I feel Monzo missed a trick on, was giving people a way to vote in that Monzo Plus screen on what their thoughts were on each product in both the code and “add-on” lists - this would be much more valuable than knowing 2,000+ people joined the wait list.
£6 a month, for a custom URL and a different coloured card?
I am sure they’ll be articles about this in the financial press very soon.
I would imagine that this is done via an ATM, the same way that cardless withdrawals can be done with some banks here in the UK - Barclays, for example, does this.
Hopefully they’ll point out that there are more details yet to be released
