I would imagine the metal card will be an uplift from the core pricing, so I don’t see why not.

not true as you can change the colour of the card via chat and then re-order it.
Although I imagine (as @HoddzDJ said) it would be an uplift
Others have tried that and been denied I believe so don’t take this advice for granted.

Excellent news. I was very critical of the initial announcement for Monzo Plus, but this certainly seems to be going in the right direction again. Paying interest on positive balances is much needed and any sort of cashback is of course an excellent benefit. Looking forward to getting onboard and getting a cool metal card!

How would the emergency cash work if you lose your card? “We’ll transfer you up to £1000.” But how would that be useful if you lost your card anyway?
In that situation it’s the lost card, not the lack of money? What have I missed?

I would like to see the pricing for the travel insurance before I commit to the base £3 Monzo Plus cost. Unfortunately a new card colour and custom username on a URL don’t seem worth spending £36 a year for.

It would be good if the crowdfunding investors actually got Monzo Plus for free i.e. the base £3/£6 fee is waived.

Just joined Monzo plus and added travel insurance,
It would be great if you could add your partner to the travel insurance for a fee as you can do on Revolut.

I think this is the best we’ve been given an answer to that:
The current cost of travel insurance is given during the plus signup flow (it’s £4). If you mean the future cost with the improved cover then I’m not sure Monzo’s said anything more, and it’s probably not finalised yet.
I am an investor too (just don’t have the badge), and it’s not something I’d personally want to see.
Monzo needs to become sustainable on their own without investment needed just to continue to run.
I’m not sure giving paid for features (whether you think they should be is another debate) free away to a large group of individuals likely to be interested in Plus, is a good way to do this.

Why, as an investor, would you want to be given chargeable services for free? As an investor you should want the company to make money surely.

Agreed, the £3 a month isn’t too bad. I chose to add the travel insurance as well which with what I’m travelling with this year, it ends up paying itself.
Agreed. Guess we’ll just have to see how the baseline Monzo Plus offering improves. At the moment it feels very gimmicky. Just want to see something with a bit more substance for £3/£6 a month.

I get what you’re saying but it’s a bit like receiving dividends from a company you have shares in. I doubt many people turn down the dividend in order to boost the company’s profits!
