Monzo now lets you get paid a day early, for free

Now I am worried, I use to get my universal credit before on monzo… Its use to be greyed out saying pending next day 1am bla bla.
I changed it to lloyds. Now I have moved my universal credit back to mozo as I can get the money day before at 4pm.
But can u really as some people say no…
The mozo staff said yes… No problem, I will get day before… I don’t know who to believe now

To take one example:

It I sn’t a feature that will be necessarily be useful for everyone, but for the people that do use it it can have a disproportionate level of impact. More people are living paycheck to paycheck with little savings than you might expect, and for people struggling to make it to their next payday, a feature like this is incredibly useful. For some it’s a nice to have, and for others, it can make a huge difference to their lives. So, I wouldn’t downplay it on the basis that it might not be useful to you, without knowing the impact it will have for others.

I don’t personally think it’s a big deal but I do agree with it being a nice to have feature. Because, why not? Ultimately, it would be great if everything was just instant.

I just don’t really understand how it helps people living pay cheque to pay cheque as you’re just shifting the whole cycle forward by a day. You’ll still have the same problem each month, just a day earlier than before.

Some people have issues with employers and how they are sending the payments. I get tax credits weekly and child benefit every 4 weeks and I’ve never not had it show the day before and they are all paid the way as UC

You have seen it appear greyed out before you moved it to Lloyds? So it’s fine

That doesn’t say it will solve people’s financial troubles though does it? It says it will be “useful” and make a “huge difference”. Fair enough, not my circumstances so not for me to quantify the word huge in that context. Not for me to pretend to understand and just dismiss it either, though.

If that’s what people are spinning into meaning a ‘solution for financial troubles’ then they probably need to sit in a cool dark room for a bit. :man_shrugging:

Yes mate I use to get uc in monzo before… Use to be greay out the day before (use to say 1am the flowing day)
Then moved to lloyds.
Only yesterday I gave monzo account again as early pay out. I meant to get uc on 28"th…i was told I can claim cash on 27th 4pm…lets see
This is what I am worried about

Well it won’t be after Lloyds that’s for sure

As long as they change your bank details in time it should be fine. They’re generally very good at changing the details quickly

Only problem is the bank holiday in the way so they might not have it updated in time, but that’s worst case scenario. I think they’d need to have sent it to monzo by Friday

Sorry I did not understand

I called uc yesterday . They said I will be paid in my new acc which is monzo…

So you should see they greyed out transaction by 9am on the day before your official payday. Don’t worry if it’s not there by 9, sometimes it can be a bit later.

Then you’ll get a push notification at 4pm to claim it early

I’m saying ultimately you shouldn’t get your money any later than you’re meant to wether it’s via Monzo or Lloyds, just with Monzo you’ll get it earlier maybe

I known that… But I have not changed bank account for a simple reaaon

Yeha I use to get grey transactions before at 8:30ish am day before uc payday

For those that have done it, what happens to Summary, does getting paid early confuse the hell out of it?

Won’t make a difference to my summary, it’s wrong every month anyway.

Oh dear!

I don’t know whether it’s a result of this feature but my future income has stopped showing in my feed. Usually it shows 2 days prior and it’s now less than 24 hours until I’m due to be paid and still nothing is showing up. Has anyone else has this issue?

Any good news?

It’s always been the day before at about 8.30am

Unless it’s due on Monday , then you see it on Friday

Same here . Money due tomorrow but nil showing !
