Monzo Mobile! đŸ“±

.com/mobile says 30gb plan roaming includes EU plus 11 and unlimited says 52 countries but if you go to the faq below it only has 34 countries listed for 30gb and unlimited has 54.

60 international minutes includedto use abroad every month

Is this to call abroad or to use while roaming?

If it’s only 60 minutes while roaming, like Revoluts 50 mins it’s kind of ridiculous tbh, they’ll sell it to Monzo business customers but you can’t run a business off 60 minutes, even for the average person I wouldn’t go to a foreign country with only 60 minutes available.

Can everyone just wait till it’s actually been released

Is anyone using Monzo mobile yet? I see them asking if you are or on the wait list.

Why are you stressing about it?

Front line staff should know the answer, they don’t, so just wait. You aren’t signing up today either way.

What are you confused about?

EU roaming will allow you to use your calls, texts and data like you would in the UK up to a set data amount, or within your fair use policy to UK based numbers.

The 60 minutes international calls will likely be non-UK based numbers from UK or abroad, subject to the roaming charge agreements set out in the contract nobody has access to yet.

Those who mentioned running a business while abroad, the sim is not advertised as a business sim, only personal, so it’s not really advisable to use non-business related services if you depend on them for a business.

Nothing stopping you calling friends and family by other methods such as WhatsApp, messenger, or whatever other data related apps including FaceTime audio.

You call them all the time when you’re on holiday?

That takes an hour?

As they’re UK based, your roaming in EU will allow you to do that, and any of the other countries plan dependent.

Also, if you’re away, asking someone else to takeover caring duties so you can enjoy your holiday might do you well.

Nothing you can do hundred/thousands of miles away.

Right but if they haven’t announced something do people really think chat is going to release information to an individual that’s assuming they even gavey that information

Just use a bit of patience as things will change before general release to all customers, and whilst onboarding customers via the waitlist..

If you more then what is available then look elsewhere such as giffgaff, lebara etc

If for whatever reason you cass or your account is closed how does that affect your mobile plan

Yeah that would be a major pain

They could have, but that defeats what they are trying to achieve.

Given the previous discussions of how the Monzo offering isn’t that great I can’t imagine many would want to stay for just the mobile plan

Lebara cover this on their plans:

The minutes are in addition to your plan, and roaming allowances.

I’m coming off of the Perks plan; the friction of needing a new card had put me off canceling for a while. (The local Vue isn’t that local was the main killer.) Overall, I can’t be bothered with a new card (used another banks that was pre-saved in browser) I just moved all spending away from Monzo and cancelled Perks.

I can imagine having to move networks just as you’re leaving banks even more of a sticking point!

Does anyone know if Monzo mobile includes wifi calling. I don’t get any signal where I live, doesn’t matter which network I’m on
so rely on wifi calling. :victory_hand:

Yes:

I also just realised I’d lose volt benefits so that’s a no from me
