Monzo Metal Card

Am I the only one who does not like them and thinks they look like rebranded Revolut or N26 (metallic) cards??

I assume it’s been confirmed that the metal-looking cards definitely are metal? I ask because of all the gunmetal effect sprayed plastic you see on gadgets, AV gear etc.

Also, do owners of metal cards find they resist well to buckling and bending as people sit on their wallets etc?

Those images are samples that people were shown at the last Monzo event, so they’re definitely metal

Whether they stay like that, or the quality changes is unknown because Monzo are still looking at various options before offering them to us all.

These Metal cards look really cool. Very much vanity and i would not mind paying a little more on top for the privilege

Just got the new Amex metal card through the post, very nicely done. Valid for 5 years (presumably as it’s more durable), but although it goes into the slot in my leather wallet easily enough, it seems to resist being extracted.

Those platinum cards are really nice looking cards

If all my cards were metal and would not come out of my wallet, I would spend less money - or none at all. Really going back to my Yorkshire roots

If you think those are thick you should see an Amex Titanium card now that’s a real metal card. Not this plastic metal hybrid.

If you mean the Amex Centurion (black), it’s unlikely I’ll ever be offered one. Apart from the fact I don’t have the money, I refer the honourable gentleman to my previous post. There’s allegedly a minimum spend expectation to be invited, rumoured to be about Ā£10k per month, and I’m from Yorkshire

Yep that’s the one. I’ve seen many of them but sadly will never have one of my own :joy:

Looks great dependant on cost, IMO a one off fee would be preferable as opposed to a monthly fee.

Think I’d happily leave it if it involved a monthly fee tbh, would feel somewhat of a con.

Monthly fees for a product/service such as travel insurance makes sense. But for a physical item such as a metal card, which has no ongoing cost to Monzo once manufactured and sent out, just no…

Always sitting on my wallet in jeans often does result in cards cracking/splitting over time… A metal card would be a nice thing to have, and resolve this issue!

I honestly don’t see what the fuss is about with metal cards.

And then I saw those in the picture and, well, I think I’m going to have to get them.

My preference would be flat fee only, I’m not into packaged accounts.

I would really like to have the option of a metal card. I recently upgraded to Plus with Travel Money & Travel Insurance - Ā£10 a month. I am happy with the add-on pricing BUT Monzo Plus Midnight Sky card looks very cheap (may be I am so used to Hot Coral design!!) and I have lost ā€˜Investor’ wording, Not Kool Monzo :frowning:

They are looking into putting the ā€˜investor’ back on the cards. In the meantime, my hot coral plus card actually looks and feels worse than my regular hot coral card. I hope it’s just about patience

They’re pretty but I honestly wouldn’t see the point in having one, personally. I love the hot coral card but use apple pay so can’t even remember the last time I used my physical card

I would like to have a metal card too!!! cool

Just seen the new Amex Platinum metal card, the part metal/plastic sandwich design isn’t too bad as I would have thought. Not as nice or doesn’t seem to be robust as their fully metal card but the design, general feel definitely feels more premium than a normal card and would love to see it come to life with Monzo when it’s launched properly

p.s. would love the white one

Which one is it? The charge card?

Yep the platinum charge card £575 a year :hushed:

Yea the platinum charge card. It’s on amex’s Website saying now in metal for the U.K. as well. Use to be a US thing
