Monzo can close your account at any given time for any reason, doesn’t need to be a breach of any law or t&c, though can be deemed an unfair outcome if there’s no reasoning behind it, which the FCA may frown upon.

Well I was correct for the most part then.
My card began peeling a few months ago and I managed to get a replacement for free via chat. Since then my new card has started to do the exact same. From my experience, the cards are pretty poor quality.
I mean if it’s a design flaw and you used the card naturally, and didn’t abuse the thing then I do see why they replaced it free of charge the first time.
If it’s happened a second time then the design may need to be changed, only if it happens to multiple people.
The main problem I have with mine is that it’s gone yellow where it’s been held in a leather card holder, but I think they do warn against that and I don’t really get it out so I very rarely see it.
Is there a way to completely remove the white layer?
