We explored both approaches, same with Monzo loans. Design-people decided this approach works best for us for now.

This would be amazing!
Another bank let’s me add a photo when I create a payee. As I pay my cards via faster payments, it is very useful to have an image for payees. They’re perfectly good enough to identify the card in each case

You want the six digit one.
I can’t complete the setup here. I persistently get ‘The credentials you have entered are incorrect…’
The memorable word is listed as ‘Lower case letters only’, mine contains an upper.
If I change the memorable to match mine (with an upper case), the setup won’t allow you to continue…
Mine also has an uppercase letter but when I did it all in lowercase mine worked fine
Ive also tried killing the app, and restarting but no avail…

I’m still unable to get in, with the same message you were getting 
I did nothing different, just tried again. I’ve probably tried 6-8 times in total.
Although, I did get the apology for the time it was taking…
I don’t have a Barclaycard so…

I’ve tried loads of times until it threatens that my account could be blocked if I get it wrong again.
If I am entering the wrong details, which I don’t think I am, it would be good if there was then a link to reset my barclaycard login details etc, or direction to some FAQs or something. It just doesn’t work and if I wasn’t a Monzo fanboy and fintech geek I’d have given up after a couple of tries.
As I am though, I’ll try another few thousand times until it works 
Just set up my account. NO issue, my password also has uppercase, change to lower and worked fine, within minutes balance showing correctly.
Can’t wait for further integration, whether Monzo send you a feed item 5-6 days before the statement date showing you your balance and when you click it, it ask you whether you want to pay full, and exact amount or minimum. Monzo then pay the amount on the statement date, No reason to log into Barclaycard then.

Those mock up are looming very good for payments. 
I can’t for the life of me find the required 6-digit passcode. My online account and phone app both ask for a 5-digit code ( which I do know)
For the online stuff Barclays is 5 digits, Barclaycard is 6 digits
