Is it possible to have an option for the amount that goes into your committed spend. I would assume the options would be minimum payment, full balance or a customisable amount.
The full outstanding balance going into my committed spend wouldn’t work for me as I don’t pay off my full outstanding balance each month right now. Equally, the minimum would be too low for me, although technically speaking the minimum is the only truly ‘committed’ spend. I currently pay off about 4x the minimum spend on my card each month, I’m not sure how that could be easily estimated without a manual committed spend input though.
Just been through the flow and it worked fine on testflight beta save having to restart to see the new screen. All seemed fairly straightforward.
Saw 2 feed items in my feed, not one - perhaps detect dupes
Connection flow worked first time
Saw persistent flickering when page loaded
Had to restart the app to see the new accounts screen, so that was very confusing.
Balance screen is correct
It helps to see the balance for sure, for Credit Cards that’s probably enough for some people (obviously transactions would be nice, and paying money would be nice).
A little bit of unsolicited feedback on the new accounts tab while I’m here (which is looking great BTW, definitely a step in the right direction):
I expected this to be called ‘Accounts’, it does not just contain details on one account.
Add Money should move to the bottom now - can’t remember when I last used this and you don’t want people to top up manually, so move it out of the way, esp if user is paying in salary. Real bank accounts don’t have this.
Borrowing should also move right to the bottom IMO - the setting rarely if ever used by most people and you already know the limit because it is on the pulse graph at the top of the Home screen.
The new barclaycard entry looks swish, and contains all the relevant information - ticks all the boxes for me, though it’d be nice to have a button to send money to it I guess, or even better an option to set up a DD which pays it off in full every month.
The monzo card at top could be a lot smaller IMO - I don’t really need a huge picture of a card, nice as it is, and it should be one account of hopefully many that your users will have with you. It takes up most of the screen and is pretty information light - why not a presentation for each account like the credit card ones?
If you want the current account needs to be scaled down a bit - my idea UI would have entries all the same size, and a list of transactions and actions accessible under each account entry (including pots). Hopefully one day the current account will just be one of several in here.
Exciting to see this happening, the first of many account connections I hope. Also pleased to hear you’re using someone like TrueLayer as this will hopefully make it easy to add other cards.
Yeah, I guess I meant updating the amount that shows in Committed Spending to reflect what the full payment for the next statement would be.
I do appreciate many people pay off their statement loads of different ways but at the moment the amount Committed Spending predicts is always quite wrong because my credit card usage various a lot.
No idea if it’s technically possible to set an option for how you pay off a specific card and that be reflected though
And as possibly already mentioned I’d really value credit card transactions to appear in the main transaction feed with the ability to also filter cards.
Really cool stuff though! Can’t wait to see what features you add on top.
This is all great to see - thanks Monzo! I think when it gets really useful for me is when I can bill split individual card transactions with friends/partner etc. That’ll blow my mind.
Any timeframe for adding Amex? And/or Virgin Money credit cards?
Another thing that would be nice, having a graph similar to the home page, showing balance over time. I’m trying to clear my debt and would be nice to see the slope going down. Similar to the emma app
It turns out I never even had an online account and had to register. Apparently the online account is completely different to the in-app account which I have been using to manage my barclaycard, so I had to register on the website as well.
I realise that makes me pretty dumb, but would have been good if entering the details that I thought were mine returned a “this account doesn’t exist, please ensure you have registered for online servicing” or something like that.
Also, once I registered for the online servicing it still said my credentials were wrong in the Monzo app until I made my surname all lower case. The UI encouraged me to start the surname with a capital so that was unintuitive. If it’s meant to allow capitals in that field then perhaps there was just a short delay between me registering and being able to use those details.
Tried on Android and here’s my experience:
-enabled feature in labs
-entered all the credentials correctly
-account took a while but it finally appeared at the bottom of the accounts screen
-closed the app and opened it again in the evening, credit card no longer there. When trying to input the details again they now come up as incorrect.
Not a smooth experience, to say the least. Definitely needs a lot more work.
Set up was easy after following instructions. Closed Monzo app and opened again, Barclaycard Balance showed accurately and likewise credit limit was correct. Will test balance status when card used.
Connected OK albeit slowly. I have two Barclaycards and providing details for one gave me both accounts in the Accounts tab.
The only way to distinguish between the two however is by the credit limit which is different. Both are reported as “Platinum Visa” . Each however are on different terms so showing the last four digits of the card number would be helpful please.
Without transaction information the balance alone is of limited value although it is helpful to see. In time hopefully tapping the account will load and show recent transactions.
As more connections are added it would be good to be able to re-order and customise the list and to be able to hide and show selected accounts please.
Longer term being able to label the accounts with a name of your choice would overcome the problem of distinguishing between two accounts of the same type.
Would be nice if similar to Pots we can upload a custom image.
The frequency it is updated is fine IMO, Real time for a feature like this isn’t a deal breaker for me.
I am all for an easier way to pay back the balance as shown in the design mockups!

Is anyone else missing the card image? I’m definitely running the latest version of the iOS app (2.40.0) otherwise I don’t think I could add the card, but no card image visible:
Tried rebooting, killing the app etc, nothing seems to make any difference. Odd.
Edit: I wonder if it’s a space issue? I’m on an iPhone SE and maybe the image + text + balance would be too much?
