I was as ever hugely impressed with TS, like the way he communicates as CEO, he’s not a founder, so has a very different role from a publicity perspective for me.

Quite rare to find a TS interview. Great to hear him talking about the Monzo mission and the battles he’s faced.
Some awesome investor nuggets in there too… Annual Revenue Rate around £350m (2022 annual report said £270m ARR as at June 2022, so implies 30% revenue run increase in 5 months if the interview was done this month. Huge!). 6.7m customers. Not seen any updates on this since 6m. Also he said 150k new users a month which is more than the 100k ish we could see joining towards the end of the public user tracker era. Really impressive numbers all around.

Agreed on all counts. The commentary around all the new products they plan on launching over the next few months is exciting too. We know there’s plans for investing, but I wonder if they have anything else up their sleeve

Some good news!
(In case of paywall it’s basically the Monzo CEO saying they’ll be profitable next year and that they’re looking to win in the UK market (and continuing in the US) before further expansion).

What on earth? 
Either a really old image someone found online (probably Reddit or Twitter) and tried to pass it off as them seeing it in person today (this happens a lot, especially on Facebook), or the prepaid card reputation still lingers for some merchants.

I’m presuming it’s not technically possible to program a POS card reader to not accept Monzo cards? Can someone confirm?
In other words, what would happen if the customer used their Monzo card without showing it to the shop, or using Monzo in Wallet screen–down? The transaction would go through and the shopkeeper would be none the wiser, right?

It’s never stopped been a thing, it’s just full of bitter people and half truths. I’m sure some of it’s legit, but it’s hard to work out fact from fiction.
Although having said that, I can’t find them anymore, so they’ve either gone away or set it to private only, so it doesn’t come up in a search

I was bored and went into one of these groups as a form of self-harm/entertainment. Apparently there are two Monzos, a fake and a real one 
I presume the fake one is meant to be the one closing accounts?
