🇪🇸 Monzo in Spain [Wiki]

I took money fee free from a German ATM in September 2024 - I have a Every Day Current Account. Using it in shops definitely incurs a (quite hefty) fee.

*We won’t charge you when you use your personal debit card to make withdrawals at Santander cash machines abroad. You’ll find our cash machines in Spain, Germany, Poland, Portugal, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Uruguay, and the USA. Make sure you choose to pay in the local currency to avoid being charged any other fees.

After further investigation it seems that any currently available Santander account can use Santander ATMs with no charge, but they don’t advertise it on the account’s page - it’s only looking at the fees page where it becomes obvious.

And, as you say, the Every Day account has foreign transaction fees for purchases (2.95%).

Ok, thank you for the input but not with a Monzo card that is the main reason of this thread.

It is rather misleading to have it only free in Santander ATMs. I’m sure quite a lot of people get caught out in assuming that it’s free for purchases too.

ING ATM in shopping center still free to use.

Fee has increased to €2.90 (on Tenerife at least)

If you use Bankera, it should be free as it’s an EU issued card.

And presumably Bunq as well

Yes, but bunq itself isn’t free.
