Monzo Business - Change Orders

I’ve just started my business account and am in the process of working out whether I can completely transfer and close my old business account.

I run a pub that still takes cash, and I see I can pay money in at the post office, so that’s fine. It’s change orders that I’m looking into.

I currently get change from the post office using a Santander Change Giving card, which lets me get my change without paying at the PO counter, and the charges are applied directly to my account. Before I got this card, the PO were highly reluctant to give me change, and I worry that it’ll become a weekly slog gettting coins out of them without a Monzo equivalent to this Change Giving Card.

I see from this six year old post -

  • that no such formal solution was found, and it depended on friendly Postmasters.

I can’t find anything about change in the online documentation. Has this changed since 2019?

I have asked at my local post office and they were very kind, and explained that they don’t have a similar arrangement with Monzo as they do with Santander and others. However, as I’ve been going there for years and we frequently chat, they said they’d sort me out.

I’d rather not rely on an informal situation but I also very much prefer Monzo in every other way (so far), so I’ll see how it goes.

Does anyone else have change needs, and if so how do you deal with it? The days of popping over to the bus depot to get the coins from bus fares are long gone
