'Mondo Receipt' - Export purchases as image

I’m fortunate enough to be in a position where I still receive financial support from my parents (I’m still quite young) and so I tend to pay for my food, transport and other basic things when I’m home alone and I then have to dig through statements or use a spending tracking app to be able to get an accurate total to then hand over to my parents for them to pay me back.

Whilst this is quite a niche idea in my situation, I feel like being able to export or ‘share’ a kind of Mondo receipt by text or message (either in the format of a generated image or by just a piece of text to paste) would be quite useful.

Another example would be if a friend owed you some money. For instance, I went to the cinema yesterday with my friend and I paid for both tickets using my Mondo card. It would be great to be able to just text my friend the ‘virtual Mondo receipt’ so that he can check the amount I’m owed and then pay me whenever (obviously Mondo does not support ‘pay-in’ yet but in future this could be helpful).

I’ve quickly tinkered on Photoshop to give an example of what I mean. A new ‘Share’ icon appears on the purchase page, allowing you to share the ‘Mondo Receipt’ with a variety of services, etc. The app then auto-generates the image, I’ve cooked up a very quick example of what it could look like and include.

Curious to hear people’s thoughts on this!

I’d love us to have at some point this feature, or even a link, signed by Mondo, that you could share with other parties to prove that you actually paid for a particular transaction.

Images, link or messages extension, implementation doesn’t matter too much to me but I’d love to see this supported.

My use case is very similar in that it’s informal expenses, right now I simply send screenshots of the app to people and crop/blur/mark up the feed when it’s multiple transactions.

Even just having a signed link to share with other people would work perfectly! I feel like one of Mondo’s advantages as is, is that it’s a more modern and forward-thinking bank so I feel like implementing a more social peer-to-peer focus could work in their favour! And hey, it’ll get more people on Mondo too!

Completely agree Richard, as it is currently is a little bit fiddly and a bit awkward to show, as you so brilliantly put it, ‘informal expenses’. I’m glad you like the idea though!
