Can I just ask what people have got against Metro Bank?
I’ve been with them for over 6 years now and my family have been with them since opening and personally I’ve never had any issues.
Yes, you do have to quite a lot of things in branch but personally I’ve never found that an issue. Everytime I’ve been into a branch of Metro they have been really nice and I’ve been seen by someone super quickly.
I understand that their App is a bit on the older side but personally I don’t mind it at all.
I really like that their Current Account has Fee Free Spending in Europe!
Me and partner both have their Low-Rate Credit Card in case of emergencies!
But I hear all these bad things about Metro.
So what is everyone’s problem?
The branch thing is a deal breaker for me because I don’t have one anywhere near me. Even if I did, though, my preference would always be to do things with a few clicks in the app, rather than going to branch to do it face to face.
Metro were right to try to disrupt the banking industry but they arrived just before app based banking, which was terrible timing for them to spend a fortune on fancy high street locations.
I would’ve opened a Metro ISA recently but for the branch requirement.
I didn’t have any issues with Metro when I used them for a savings account, the app was incredibly basic, but functional - I guess it’s horses for courses though, people want instant notifications which only Fintechs seems to be able to reliably provide
I like the Monzo UI because it’s easy to use, it’s colourful and fast to nagivate (most of the time)

I thought I’d stumbled into a Reddit sub for a second there.
But to answer your question.
There’s this
This would put a lot of people off, especially those who aren’t near one of their branches.
And this
Some people (especially some people here) will be put off by this.
That’s a nice thing to have, but it’s not likely to be a compelling argument for anyone who has a Monzo account.
