No, because it’s not in my Apple device.

o

It does not exist for me in any form on any device.

Nice how it automatically blanks name and card number from screenshots.

@Boring could the Apple Pay link be deep routed in my device even though it’s not showing?

I’m not sure I’ve done a full DFU wipe and reset but it’d be the chore of the century if I did.

I have reset and restore but wondering if the latter is the last resort?

I know VBV and they’ve attempted the whitelist for it.

I’ll give them a call later and see if both of these options work.

Mehhhh.

A Horse card has arrived. It doesn’t match the card number in the App and neither is it a platinum card unlike Apple Wallet.

But the bank detail is the same. If it opened as platinum shouldn’t the card also match?

Interesting experience with the Halifax app and honestly not sure I’d ever trust it if my phone was snatched

Was finally back home to help one of my parents setup a chase account and move a lump sum over that was being wasted sitting in a current account

They forgot the Halifax app memorable information and password, we tried to guess it the maximum number of times and get logged out

You can reset it by entering your sort code and account number, full name, dob - all of which would be in my email account, and then receive an SMS text

After that I was logged back in and able to reset memorable info, they ask for a password but allow you to reset it with no further authentication if you get it wrong so it’s effectively useless

Anyway, after getting back into the app we setup a new chase payee and made a considerably large transfer which went through straight away without issue

I can’t believe the account was never locked and asked us to call up at the very least. I can’t imagine how a payment could look anymore suspicious

I’m surprised you could even take control of the account with that little information/authentication

Using the same device it will recognise that on the back end and have a trust indicator set.

So resetting passwords etc isn’t a major unless it’s a new device ID which the system would flag and likely complete additional security.

That makes sense but what happens if you have your phone snatched while unlocked? The thief could duck into an alley and easily reset Halifax passwords assuming you have your sort code, acc number, name and dob on your phone

But how would they know full name and address and DOB by just having the phone?

They wouldn’t.

You’re over thinking and could find flaws in nearly all banks with that mindset.

Just by searching “Halifax” in gmail, they would find a welcome to Halifax email with account details, name, etc

I’m sure it would be unlikely to happen, I was just surprised there wasn’t some kind of liveness check like a selfie

Worse things happen at sea :grimacing:

Delete that email then, so that there’s nothing for them to find.

I have all these details saved in my contact card on my phone so it can auto fill when I sign up to websites.

Still I don’t think this Halifax thing is a huge issue.

Apple implemented the feature in iOS to lock apps. So just lock every app. It adds another layer of protection even if the app itself has its own authentication process. It’ll need to authenticate through iOS first even if the phone is unlocked.

Better still! Hide all banking apps using the hidden feature.

Apple’s Face ID lock for apps falls back to the passcode, they need to change that so it uses a different code. It’s flawed imo.

If you’re going to store all your details like Address / DOB etc put them in a passworded note.

People who steal phones will go through your notes.

It’s crazy hearing how people are so so so so so so so concerned about shit like this in life.

Just don’t take your phone out the front door if you’re that paranoid.

Cameras in the city centre might see your passcode
