Just had an email to say I’ve been accepted, and when I log into the app it says there’s a problem and to contact support.
Yeah me too, exactly the same. I hadn’t realise it doesn’t even have a debit card so it’s basically a savings account like Chip or Plum at the moment
I deleted the app, reinstalled it, signed in, took a selfie, and it now works.
Any chance of some screenshots? I’m curious.
Like you I did stage 1… then stopped
This is effectively a savings account taking third party deposits as far as I can tell?
What’s the customer support like?
I tried again, and it said There is a problem contact support
Account opened today
There can’t be that many customers so far as my account number is 0000####.
I love the simplicity of the app - great layout easy on the eye!
At the moment I’ll just treat this current account like a savings account paying 3.5% interest. The debit card is coming soon which will make the account a proper spending account with the added benefit of 3.5% interest on the total balance.
Given that one of those numbers is a check digit, that’s less than a thousand customers.
The name “LHV” rings a bell. I think when I had an Uphold account I had to transfer money to an LHV sort code. Think it was a communal account? They must do business banking stuff.
Indeed having checked back it was a sort code of 04-03-01 - easy to remember. Wonder if these new current accounts are the same?
My sort code is 04-03-16. Account number is definitely easy to remember being only four digits long and resembling a year
Just to add, a bank transfer inbound arrived instantly. Not tried an outbound transfer yet.
Test it out. My bank details are…
In all seriousness surely this account could be a good option for those starling customers most unhappy at the rate being taken off the current account - once it has a few more features at least?
Outbound bank transfers are instant. Easy to do, plus all the usual security checks you get with other banks.
Gave in and applied. Got approved within an hour. My account number seems pretty low… in the 2000’s!
Uphold is still LHV but with your name on the account now.
