This seems like a good UK bank account for people not currently living in UK but need a UK bank account. Great for people in countries that don’t have Wise or Revolut or for people that had their accounts unjustly closed by Wise or Revolut.
It uses EZ Remit for currency transfer. It doesn’t have a debit/ATM card yet.
I didn’t open an account with them so I can’t personally recommend them.
been using this account for over a year now, and it’s been great wf solid 3.5% current interest on my balance. One of the best parts is that I can hold GBP, USD, and EUR all in one account and earn interest on them, without juggling between different logins, I know their debit card is in beta now and launching soon, which should make spending even easier. Definitely a good option for those who need a UK/ global bank account while living abroad especially if Wise or Revolut isn’t available.
I used Kroo as well, and I like their high interest current account though now dropped to 3.4% only, but isn’t it a good thing to save hassle switching money between current and saving account? (i am lazy in doing so) they are also fscs protected
I did a bit of research when they were first posted about.
The bank part was acquired from a Bahrain bank, BFC, in 2022. It then became a wholly owned subsidiary of iFast in 2024. The account they offer has apparently been available since 2023.
iFast is a fintech from Singapore that broadly does wealth management/investment stuff. So the bank appears to be meant to fit into that.
It works just like any other digital bank, I top up my account with fps to earn some interests, and sending money back home in a different currency on swift doesn’t cost me a penny (as I very often need to do fx)
Unfortunately, the mobile wallet service to Apple Pay is not available at the moment. We are working hard to expand availability and will release more information through our official channels in the near future.
Looks like the cashback offer is capped at £40 per month and runs through to end of June.. cashback being paid at the end of the following month after it was earnt.
