Is monzo Max any good

I’m trying to decide whether to go with monzo max or no can someone give there opinion on what they think of it please

All depends on how much you’d get from what the account offers so no real answer for this as it’ll suit some people and not others.

For me, Travel Insurance, Phone Insurance and breakdown cover is something I get use from so it works well for me.

The phone insurance would be good for me as have a 2 year old and a son who as autism

And I do travel to wales a bit

Have a look through this and weigh up what you’d make use from. If you’re paying anything towards those insurances elsewhere add up how much they cost you and whether it’s worth taking out the account or not

Travel insurance can be quite specific about when they’ll cover domestic trips. For example, Monzo’s says

Trips inside the UK must be more than 100km from your home and include at least two nights’ stay at pre-booked accommodation.

You’ll probably find that travel insurance from other providers will have a similar rule.

The insurance that comes with Monzo Max also only covers you (and your phones), and not the rest of your family - unless you pay an extra £5 a month.

If you’re mostly interested in the insurance products, this makes it more expensive than packaged accounts from other banks – but it also includes other benefits like a Railcard, cinema tickets and sausage rolls from Greggs, so you should work out whether you’d be likely to get enough value from those, when comparing with the cost of getting insurance elsewhere.

You might find the MSE guide to packaged bank accounts useful:
https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/best-packaged-bank-accounts/

Only you can decide if it’s any good as it will vary on a person to person basis.

Plenty of people use it, so yes it’s good.

Plenty of people don’t use it, so no, it’s not.

Yes,

Subscribed mainly for breakdown cover and travel insurance

had to use breakdown the other night RAC came out simple to use app

Other benefits

Higher interest and discounted investment fees
Weekly greggs
Cinema ticket once a month

Pretty much pays for itself in benefits

I have really been toying with the idea of swapping from Nationwide to Monzo Max but the Travel Insurance for Monzo does not accept pre-exisiting conditions. Where as Nationwide does if they’re declared.

For me it wins because:

  • my main banking is with Monzo
  • Breakdown cover includes European cover
  • It’s now less per month than Nationwide and the free railcard and Greggs junk are just bonuses
  • The card is quite nice

Yeah thanks for the reply’s because the insurance don’t cover pre existing conditions I’ve opted for the monzo Perks subscription I really love monzo it’s the best
