[iOS] Logging into a closed account prompts for Apple Pay provisioning

Issue:

When logging into a closed account for the first time on a new app install and then closing & reopening the app, it offers to set up Apple Pay even though it will fail later on because the account is closed.

Details to reproduce:

Uninstall the Monzo app (if any). Install it back, follow the login flow up to the home screen, then close and reopen the app (or just switch away from it but leave it running in the background). When reopening the app, it offers to set up Apple Pay even though the account is closed and Apple Pay provisioning will fail later on down the line if you actually attempt it.
OS: Latest iOS at the time of this writing.
Device: iPhone 8

so what are you trying to do? what you said doesn’t say what you need to long into a closed account for

If the account is closed would you even be able to still log in as it’s closed

I needed to export statements for tax purposes. And yes you can still log in, your card will appear as frozen and some features won’t be available but the transaction history will still be there.

Ok well I did nit know that any way have you tried contacting support

It’s not a blocker, you can dismiss the prompt so I don’t feel it’s a high-priority bug that warrants spending support time on it. I just wanted to report is so they can fix it eventually.

Ok
