iOS Bug: Unable to update "Budget" for joint account

Issue: It is no longer possible to update the monthly budget (total and per category) on joint accounts on the iOS Monzo app.

Details to reproduce:

  1. Open Monzo and tap a joint account to open it
  2. Tap the “target” icon in the top-right
  3. Tap the “Budgets” button in the top-left on the “Summary” screen
    Expected behavior: View the monthly budget for the joint account - total and per category, with the ability to edit them
    Actual behavior: It shows the monthly budget for my personal account instead, so I have no way of editing the total monthly budget and per-category budgets for my joint account, even though the joint account budget target is displayed at the top-centre of the “Summary” screen and even towards the top of the joint account main screen. The only way I can edit this is through my wife’s Android Monzo app in our joint account there.

OS: iOS 17.5.1
Device: iPhone 15 Pro Max
App Version: 5.84.0

This is all a bit moot. ‘Summary’ has been replaced with ‘Trends’.

Quite why Summary is still available is anyone’s guess, but it is going away at some point and the fact it is STILL accessible causes a great deal of confusion.

To answer your issue - don’t use Summary. Steer clear of it and use Trands instead.
