No you keep the holographic one.
Great to hear, look forward to using it :).
It works like a card payment, not a direct debit sadly - the money will come out at a random time on the day you sign up the following month
Thank you, good to know.
Would be interested in Amex, NewDay (Amazon) and M&S credit card integration and also anything joint account related
Who will think of the inner children!
Yea, not in testflight unfortunately.
People who want to save the environment from plastic waste!
Edit: also, my card still says monzo plus on it, but I want the holographic one!

How about an option to pay for an annual subscription like with Monese, something which could get the price down. On a monthly plan you can switch it off month by month, there’s no financial incentive to sign up for 3 months here in comparison.
-
Or perhaps, small reduction on the fee for paying over x amount into the account. Further incentivising people to be paid into Monzo.
-
One cash deposit is a bit low, I can pay for Monese annually at the equivalent of £4.13 a month and have unlimited top ups at the paypoint and post office. If it had even been 2 or 3 I think it would have tempted me to switch to this premium offering
I think for me the Virtual Cards is the thing thats caught my eye, and probably wouldn’t pay £5/m without it.
I think the value proposition is defintely better than previous iterations, I do think the offering matches what a ‘Plus’ offering could be / should be; wether that’s worth it for everyone is obviously a different decision.
I would like to see more budgeting tools beyond what has been implemented - I still think the paywalled options are a bit basic, but hopefully that will evolve.
It’s not yet enough to completely manage my budget, and I think there also needs to be a lift on Number of Pot Caps.
These are the key things I would like to follow, to really make it killer:
Connected Cards:
- Allow for some integration type activity - or pot to pot transfers based on balances / new Activity. (i.e. if my Credit Card increases, move money to a pot to match the change).
- Amex Soon, hopefully.
Virtual Cards:
- Allow Payments from Pots
- More than 5
- Disposable Card
- Easier access to the card data (maybe pinned like the primary card?)
Categories / Budgeting Tools generally:
- More than 50 categories
- Nested categories
- Better proccess for budgeting - bring in an envelope style approach.
- Increase in the Pot number limit
Some of those I get the feeling are in the works. But I hope the rest follow in time.
Looking to sign up today but need the payments to come out on a particular day (after payday) am I able to do this or do I just have to wait to join on that required day? Thanks
So £40 a year if I keep £2k in my account, is my maths right there?
If so, not sure what a hologram card and some app features is worth £40 to me… The virtual cards is a neat feature though.
This is the dream
Could you make a screen where it shows all the transactions from all your cards? Would change the game.
Wait until that day. After 1am on the day you want.
Ah, that is true - you can always skip it - it would be nice is there was an option to just have no card, sadly there needed for ATM’s as most currently can’t use your phone to authenticate you. I however didn’t think of that
If you sign up, is the new card compulsory? I’m quite fond of my Hot Coral card, and having had multiple card number changes in the last few years (mondo to Monzo, Monzo beta to Monzo bank, Monzo bank to Monzo investor) Having to change my card would be a dealbreaker for me unfortunately
Nope, you can’t change the payment date.
You’ll have to wait until after 1am on that date.
Nope. You can “skip” the new card. Also helps save the environment. I think that when your card expires, you’d get the new holographic one when it gets replaced though
