Introducing Monzo Flex – a better way to pay later 🚀

Not sure what all the fuss is about, really. It was clear to me from the Flex information on the website and the T&Cs that the initial payment was taken immediately.

It was also clear that the interest free option was 3 payments, not specifically 3 months.

We’re getting in touch to let you know that we’ve removed the £30 minimum amount and you can now flex eligible purchases under that amount.

Lots of you told us that removing this would give you a better experience. So we’ve given you even more flexibility when paying for purchases over time.

Oh boy, I’m going to be flexing more I think…:eyes::joy:

Yep just had this email

That’s a shame. I enjoyed having a £30 minimum limit to control unnecessary flexing :joy:

Does this fix the active card checks too?

Yes :slightly_smiling_face:

This is good for people that want to use it for lower amounts but seems bizarre to me to spread such a low figure over 3 months (or more)

So how does this work on installments now for lower amounts?

Bye bye Tymit, I have no reason to use you anymore!

Except the credit card protection obvs

Please don’t do this, Monzo.

This is what happens when you Flex something under £3.

Which was a very enjoyable experience.

I would assume then something on a Flex card would have the same behaviour, (Pick an instalment plan!) but will test it out on tomorrows Greggs visit.

I’ve just spent £22 at just eat :joy: it normally all goes on PayPal credit tbf. Thought flex can have a turn now it’s allowed.

Edit to add the payment installment screen

You get the same protections as a credit card with the Virtual Flex Card

2 instalments of £3?

If I put £300 on a credit card and tell myself I’m paying off £100 a month for the next 3 months, there’s a very good chance I don’t do it. Flex keeps me in check.
