Introducing Monzo Flex – a better way to pay later 🚀 [NEW: Flex on Apple Pay!]

I’ve had Flex since its launch (more or less, I believe), and I can still flex purchases less than £100.

If you look in Your Flex Offer in the app it tells you whether you are eligible for 0% over 3 months.

I’ve had flex since the beginning. And I got an email on the 11th Feb telling me that my flex had been updated to remove purchases below £100 from the 3 month 0% offer (as communicated in December)

So check your app, and your emails. They’ll tell you when they remove it if they haven’t already

Short answer is definitely yes.

I can’t give a timeline on when though I’m afraid

Well at least :soon_arrow: is better than no

It’s being rolled out. You’ll get given 2 months notice when it gets to you

And in contrast - Monzo have categorically stated to me yesterday (several times) that I’m still able to flex 3 months interest free for any amount. The left hand of Monzo doesn’t seem to be talking to the right hand

Which part of what they’re saying isn’t true?

  • You specifically, can flex under £100 for 3 months at 0%. Granted not everyone can, but they’ve looked at your situation.
  • There isn’t an end date for this offer, so that is also true. It’s being rolled out slowly. As per the message I shared with you, there will be a 2 month notice period eventually, and then you’ll have an end date.

Yeah, I don’t understand what Simon is kicking up a fuss about here. It seems their interest free for things under £100 is still there, and they haven’t had any notification to say they will be adding £100 restriction yet.

So if it seems like Monzo Support “aren’t aware”, it will be because there is no flag on the account. Staff WILL be aware of the £100 restriction for customers it applies to, but as this doesn’t apply to Simon, they likely won’t be able to say otherwise in case of mixed messaging.

We’ve been given advance notice of the change here in the forums, but there was no indiciation of when it would apply to existing customers. It could be in a few months, or 2 years. Until you get a change of T&Cs notification, you don’t need to worry about it since you get 2 months notice.

Have a read of the post from December… yes you have been warned it’s coming….to existing customers. That’s exactly what the post was about

As I mentioned earlier, I’ve been with Flex since the beginning, I got an email notification in Dec and from the 11th Feb my Flex has updated (I got an email to tell me on the day too).

If you check the “Flex Offer” section on your flex account it should tell you if you still have the ability to do the 3 months 0% for under £100 transactions

That’s the point I was making. You might have had your notification in Dec. I haven’t had it yet and there’s no indiciation of WHEN it will be coming to me. I can still flex my £20 deliveroo order from last week, over 3 months, interest free.

Until a SPECIFIC CUSTOMER gets their notification, there is NOTHING that customer needs to worry about. Staff will likely not know when a specific customer is going to have their offer changed, so to avoid panic and mixed messages, they will state facts on that customers current specific terms.

My point was more of the timescales and the fact that it’s happening now, not far in the future,

In the NEXT FEW MONTHS - so it’s happening. It’s happening soon. And the timescale is not years. You will be notified.
