When should I expect to see Monzo Flex appear on my credit file? I made my first payment on the 1st but there’s still nothing showing under credit. Monzo is reported fine, but no CC.
Is there a specific day that Monzo reports to the CRAs?

Up to 60 days.
So, potentially a stupid idea. And I’m sure I will be told by you lot if it is ![]()
For context, these would more be for people with lower Flex limits like myself, as once you’re up at >£750 this all becomes a non-issue.
Idea 1: Flex Top-up (to allow for S75 protection)
Allow me to add money to flex to increase my credit limit. Let’s say I want to buy a phone for £400. And I’d like S75 protection on my purchase. At the minute, I’m not actually sure how I would get this, as no retailer allows you to pay part by debit and part by credit. Whereas if I could top up Flex with £300, taking my limit to £450, and then purchase the phone for £400, I would still get the S75 on it. Yonder does this on their credit cards so it’s possible and allowed, so if Monzo could do this that would be cool.
Idea 2: Optional security deposit
On Flex Build, Monzo sometimes requires a deposit. For Purchase there’s no deposit, ever. But what would be good would be if I could voluntarily fix £300 in a savings pot, and then Monzo would increase my limit to £450. I would have no issues doing that to get a higher credit limit (so I could, for example, buy said phone with S75, or take advantage of flex in 3 at 0%). I’m guessing there’s probably an FCA policy around locking customers money up so this probably won’t happen. But it’s an idea. I’m probably the only one in the UK who wants this though.
Maybe all this is just a non-issue. But if implemented this would make Flex a better card for people starting out for credit.
Or, just pay £1 via flex on purchases £100-£30,000 and you’re covered?
Banks don’t generally allow you to add more money than your limit, deposit cards do exist, or at least did some time ago, but that’s you just spending your money and if you default, they use that money to pay off the balance.
I think what he’s saying is it’s pretty difficult (impossible?) to pay part on the Flex card and part on a debit card.
Retailers will definitely allow part card part cash though, so if you’re that desperate for S75 coverage then you could take that route?
For £400 it’s not really worth the hassle though
Retailers will also let you split over multiple cards.
Would Argos allow me to do that online? Cuz even if I go in store it’s all on the little iPads as opposed to with a human.
Go see a human and they should.
It’s not always an option. The POS system at my workplace does not support it.
In this case could you not ask a parent to use their credit card and transfer them the money if you really want the S75 protection?
It wouldn’t apply, it’s not for the benefit of the cardholder if it’s not for their use.
I had this hassle when I booked a flight for my parents around C19. Cancelled by the provider (LoveHolidays) and Sainsbury’s rejected S75 applying (and FoS agreed with them).
If the service or product isn’t for the benefit of the named cardholder, the protection doesn’t apply.
