Introducing Extra, Perks and Max

Yeah absolutely that - if you were to buy and use all the components individually, you’d spend about £86 a month on average for the comparable plan(s)

That is however somewhat inflated by the RAC cover - for EU Family cover alone that’s in the region of £38 with RAC.

So there’s likely a lot of other ways to get the same total benefits for less, tailored to your circumstances.

For example, single trip insurance for your specific needs, and even having permanent EU breakdown cover might be excessive for most users.

Also the additional £400 of withdrawals is outside the EEA - so again I imagine a small subset of users are able to maximise that value every month

Hi Alex! Thanks for flagging this, you should not have received a card where the number is rubbing off and is a fault with the manufacturer.

  1. Could you please flag this in the help section within the app that you have received a faulty card so you can receive a free replacement?
  2. I’ve also just sent you a DM asking for more details about the card so I can flag it to our manufacturer to understand how this slipped through their QA process to prevent this from happening in the future for others!

I can’t seem to get a straight answer from Monzo.

Is the Breakdown Cover for all named drivers on the vehicle or just if I’m driving the car? And is it valid for business use too? My partner uses the car for work during the week.

Shame that the metal card isnt really a thing anymore! :smiling_face_with_tear:

So ive ended up down grading from premium to perks as I found out I have travel insurance with my american express anyway, and the monthly cost of a separate phone insurance provider was about £4 a month if i pay for the year.

…but now, im beginning to wonder if i even need perks and may as well go for free, even with the reduction of the savings rate from 4.60% to 4.10%, the fact that I’m not also paying £7 a month for that privilege means that the effective savings rate is kind of unchanged based on the current interest I’m earning.

Additionally I was able to downgrade and keep my metal card without paying any fees.

This has caused me to totally rethink about paying for extra perks which in the grand scheme of things really aren’t worth it and its better to not pay any money for banking as its cheaper to crowd source these benefits yourself.

As an aside, I keep getting the “order your new card” pop up every time I open the app which is annoying…

I personally don’t understand the metal card hype

That’s made it much clearer. Thank you.

We’ve shipped some updated logos - how do yours looks now? Any missing?

I’m sorry, but this is a complete joke and you KNOW it is. I’m 32, travel on trains alone, and live in the North, so none of the Railcards are an option for me. How about you drop the line about it being in “certain parts” of the UK and just say “The South”. Clearly not cared about as an investor.

No bank product will be suitable for everyone. It is nothing to do with being cared about an an investor.

As was said, there are a range of cards, but it doesn’t say that everyone will be happy. The main complaint seems to come from a sub-set of single people, and a railcard can’t be invented for investors.

Yeah ROSS!! You know that Crag doesn’t have any friends or a partner.

I don’t travel on trains with my partner.

No surprise that you’re here immediately commenting, defending them. One thing you can always guarantee on a Monzo Community post is Revels sticking his two cents in.

You’re mistaking “single people” with “people who travel on trains alone”. They are not the same thing.

I’m glad, they’re most entertaining.

Also, I can’t have a railcard cuz 35 and single, while frustrating it is what it is.

An alternative optional style perk would be a better approach.

Time will tell.

Try living in the north-west of Scotland where there aren’t even any trains…!

I’m just tired of corporate spin. They need to be upfront and own the fact that their Railcard isn’t suitable for a significant subset of people, rather than hiding it away in small print. “Not suitable for Northerners or people who travel on trains alone” should be prominent. I suspect it will catch some people out.

I’ll be keeping Plus for now, I suspect they will add some more features over the next 12 months to try entice people away from the old models.

Unfortunately on this forum unless you’re praising them for everything they do, all you get is crap from people. Usually the same users…

Perhaps it was the manner in which they shared their feedback.

There is plenty of criticism in this topic that hasn’t resulted in this kind of behaviour.

Not shaming or attacking anyone, I think I’ve made the point twice, to virtually the same complaint, and in one case, they made a choice not to use the trains with their partner.

The product doesn’t fit their need at the moment, if other perks come, then it might fit their need better than say it does mine at the moment, and that’s fine.
