Oh for sure, I’m certain they’ve done research on all of the offerings vs cost value etc and I get that they are a business at the end of the day and they have to generate a cash flow and its a very fine balance to strike in banking, therefore I’m sure monzo would want to know why people are cancelling and moving on if they do.
Re the latter point, Sorry, I too am not eager to start an argument either, its merely something I’ve noticed.
I’ve seen quite a few people waiting for the last day / first day of the month to change to one of the new offerings. I’m likely to do the same but wanted to check if it’s now possible to move the date first? Anyone who has switched able to confirm?
Personally I’m downgrading to a lower value plan, but I imagine a good few people will be holding off for a specific date to do this. Seems odd that they’d want us to hold out rather than letting us pick a payment date and sign up immediately. Anyway, it’s nearly the first.
Why settle for the status quo? Instead of following the crowd, where’s the creativity to break free from the usual and make something that really works for everyone?
Monzo has a track record of challenging conventional ideas, reinventing them, and introducing groundbreaking innovations. While other banks may stick to the same tired formulas, Monzo consistently dares to think differently.
Despite the numerous “overhauls” (4th time now?) of their premium plans, they seem to keep revisiting the same concepts that have repeatedly proven ineffective.
Good to hear about improvements to the matching logic for the credit report.
I wonder led if it might be related to my preferred account name on Monzo being “Middle name” “Surname” whereas I assume the credit report is is stored as “First name” “Surname”. I presume there’s a way of matching using the broader address and account information though.
One small thing. Just received my card and activated. Under suggested options it then suggested “add to Apple Pay”. But when I selected this it said the card was already added.
The Premium Travel T&C’s have ‘cruise’ specifically defined as a trip. It didn’t used to (in 2021) but in 2022 the T&C’s had it included. We cruised in 2019, 2021 & 2022 and had to take the mandatory extra insurance in 2019 & 2021. But the T&C’s satisfied the Cruise company in 2022
Anyone who’s now on Max got a link to the Max plan Travel Insurance T&C’s?
EDIT: Never mind - found 'em
EDIT EDIT: Cruises are still covered in the T&C’s:
“Trip
A holiday or journey (including a cruise) which is a round trip, starting from when you leave your home or place of business (whichever is the later), and which ends on your return to your home or place of business (whichever is the earlier) and which doesn’t exceed 45 days.”
No, but I did notice that if you go through the upgrade flow it propgates a different IPID, which changes to Family cover or Individual cover (limits are the same, people covered are different). But on the web you only see the ‘indiviudal cover’ one
Just decided to go for Extra from Plus and save £2 a month. Don’t think I’ll miss much from Plus, as the cash back I had got from international transfers was a lot less than I thought anyway.
