I’m Michal, 32yo, film director.
I like books, boxing and roleplaying a character who generally doesn’t reveal too much about himself on the internet, pretending to enjoy things like books and boxing to throw the internet off the scent. Or do I.

Card has arrived - bright aren’t they - and all set up. Took me a while to realise that dynamic text sizing was a tad high, but all OK now. Here we go! R-

Welcome to all the newbies
Too many of you to welcome individually but looking forward to getting to know more of you

Hello people!

My name is Eole and I’m new on Monzo. I am a writer and, since I can earn money from anywhere in the world, I thought Monzo was a good free option! Let’s see!

So, I am a writer specialised in Bookwriting and songwriting for Musical Theatre. So, obviously, I love Musical Theatre, Theatre and music. I also enjoy reading, watching films and series, horseback riding and going out with friends.

Hey
It’s good to have you around
Does your career mean you do you do a bit of traveling too?

I’m French and studying in London.
I haven’t traveled much yet because I’m studying and studies cost time and money  but yes I plan to travel :butterfly:

Hi, I’m David, just received my Monzo card. I love the idea of a 21st Century mobile app based bank developed and run by the brightest talent the UK and world has to offer. I’m the Operations Manager of a B2B IT Support company, I love everything tech, in my spare time I like researching and setting up Smart Home technology and drinking Gin

Hi
I am Carol, I’ve just started using Monzo, I got it to use abroad, recommended by my daughter. Is it easy to use in Greece does anyone know please. Do I have to transfer money into it before I go and also can I top it up if I need to… thank you so so much x

Hi Carol, welcome!

So the best way to think of Monzo is that it’s a (super modern) bank account that lives on your phone as opposed to a travel card. That said, it’s one of the best current accounts to use overseas!

This means that you can treat Monzo like any other current account. Transfer money in and out using faster payments (bank transfers) - as long as it’s to/from another UK account it really doesn’t matter where you are in the world.

So, yes, you can add money before you go, but also while you’re away if you can access your usual bank’s internet banking or app.

If it works for you while you’re away, think about using it when you’re back in the country. The budgeting features are like nothing you’ve ever seen. Promise!
