International Wire Transfers

Hello, I’m trying to conduct a wire transfer from my US bank to my MONZO UK bank. My US bank is asking for Intermediary Bank Information, but I cannot see that anywhere on the MONZO app.

Does anyone know where that information would be?

Thank you.

Thank you, but it doesn’t explain the correspondent bank (intermediary bank) or it’s information. Unless I am missing something?

The MONZO agent mentioned Natwest, but does anyone know the Natwest Swiftcode?

If you pay it using the NatWest Swift code, it will go to a NatWest customer, not you. They need to use your Monzo IBAN.

With an IBAN, you shouldn’t need a correspondent bank. Unless it’s a large US bank, they might not know this.

even is this is a correspondent bank?

With an IBAN, I don’t think you need a correspondent bank. I’ve done a bunch of international transfers and never needed anything more than the IBAN.

Easier way, if the US bank can’t cope, is to open an account with Wise and give them the US account details, then it’s a domestic transfer for them.

Thats a good shout. I’ve started the process.

Has anyone used this NatWest BIC number and had success NWBKGB2LXXX ?

I would suggest you ask Monzo these questions. It would be quite unwise to initiate any kind of international transfer based on anecdotal advice.

Definitely. My thinking is that if you use a NatWest Swift code, the money will go to a NatWest account and, chances are, it won’t be your account.

I don’t know why people jump through all these hoops to try and make an international transfer directly into Monzo. If I were the OP even if I did find the information requested, I’d spend the entire time worried my money wasn’t going to turn up.

Wise, HSBC Global Money and Revolut are your best options for receiving USD. Just use one of those.
